Axe, it's the only way to be sure.
Actually I broke my cutting board once trying to open a damn acorn squash. Now I only buy delicata.

Speaking of squash, we are having Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast and Cheesy Acorn Squash. Assuming I don't break something getting into them. The kitchen has been wonderful smelling for the last few hours due to the pork roast though.

hot wings and french fries and half a muskmelon. I promised myself that I would go out and have a dinner at a restaurant. Instead I went through the drive thru at Zaxby's.

Some sort of taco thing, with peppers in Adobo sauce, salad, and cooked spinach.

Oh those peppers are good, but with 5 in a can one is plenty of heat for me.

Pot roast tonight, with carrots, onions, and potatoes, plus a green salad.

This is the last of the pot roasts we got from that giant pot roast sale a while back.

Sweet and sour pork, soba noodles and home made applesauce cake with cream cheese frosting.
I made a lot of mediocre applesauce last year. Next time I'm taking the time to peel the apples.

We're going to have some stuff and whatever.

Banana bread because we had some rotten bananas, and leftover pot roast and salad and some hard boiled eggs because we bought an 18-thing of eggs instead of a 12, and beer and cheese. Something like that.

It's really none of your business, anyway! I don't understand why I have to tell you people this!

Malloch and I will be having Culver's since we'll be on the road. They have a snack pack, which is essentially a kid's meal minus the toy, that is about the perfect size for my ever shrinking stomach to handle.

Spaghetti Squash, but I'm going to add some turkey sausage to it also. We came home with a ton of apples, pumpkins and all sorts of winter squash so there will be lots of squash for supper and apple and pumpkin butter making this week.

For the apple butter, I boil the peeled apple chunks in water until soft, puree, then add sugar and spices and throw it in the crockpot to cook and reduce overnight. Then I'll can it in a boiling water bath. This is similar to the process I use.

The pumpkin butter is much the same. I bake the pumpkin, scoop out the flesh and puree it and then add sugar, spices and apple cider and cook to reduce. The only difference is the pumpkin butter should be frozen since canning of pumpkin puree is no longer recommended.

Oh and then massive amounts of toast follows :hungry:
