I've been watching the first few episodes of TNG.

They suck.

A friend and I get a good laugh out of Peak Performance. At the end after Data has stymied the "master," the crew have this Leave it to Beaver moment where everyone looks at Data and laughs. We call it the "Oh, Data!" (Complete with mock chagrin.)

Thanks, nice pics. Even if some of them were from the really bad movies.

Picard and Data showed up on an episode with Captain Quantum?

I think they were just on the lot on the same day. Nemesis was shot during the time of Enterprise, and it looks like Data is wearing his B4 outfit.

I love the street clothes on people. So totally 80's!

I love the pics of Alice Krieg and her spine. I know her actual body is wrapped in that blue blanket, but it's still hard to see.

Is that Bryan Singer (director of the two good X-Men movies) in the captain's chair 5th pic from the bottom?

Oh, also, I want you guys to know that I was playing with my iPad and thinking how totally ahead of its time Star Trek was on some things.

They totally called flip phones and thumb drives, too, but there have been some bad calls as well. I wonder how much of it is prescience and how much is hardware designers taking their ideas from what they've seen.

How :nerdy: am I if I recognize that screenshot as being from an episode that I particularly like?

SUCK ON THIS TRACKIES.

Holodeck isn't a newfangled idea invention! OH NO. Some guy from the way back days thought of it long before anyone else could.

In 1420, Venetian engineer Giovanni Fontana proposed an elaborate mechanical room he dubbed the Castellum Umbrarum, or "castle of shadows." Sound awesome? It is. In a recent paper, French professor Philippe Codognet described it as "a room with walls made of folded translucent parchments lighted from behind, creating therefore an environment of moving images," adding that "Fontana also designed some kind of magic lantern to project on walls life-size images of devils or beasts."

Yes but did this Frenchman also propose that the shadows should threaten the ship every other episode? I thought not. :nope:

So there's a site that allows you to stream all Trek episodes. I've volunteered to watch episodes, write synopses, and rate. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

Okay so my friend who had the seizure and cracked her skull is a linguist specializing in extinct Native American languages, specifically a north Californian one called Mutsun about which she is writing her dissertation. Guess who else wrote his dissertation on Mutsun. One Marc Okrand, whose 1977 dissertation was a grammar of the Mutsun language and who also just happens to be the INVENTOR OF KLINGON. Hell yeah.
