Personally, I think it's only necessary to make it unsearchable by search engines.

It'd be even better if you could even just make specific threads unsearchable.

But maybe you don't have the technology, and you need to make it member's only in order to do that, in which case I support the klo-ack-a.

I think the only way to keep the search spiders out of it is to require members to sign in to read it.

Reluctantly in favour. I dislike members-only fora, but there's a real risk of enough pedos being attracted to the site that they'll disrupt the ability of :ff: to host other discussions.

I agree with erimir that indexing by search engines is all that needs to be stopped. If that can be done for the cloaca as easily, I'd say do that.

But ultimately it's your board, liv & vim, & we're all aware it's a benevolent dictatorship. I appreciate the consultation, but do whatever suits you the best.

Could be done with robots.txt, or with the scripts detecting the bots' user agent HTTP headers and not writing out the thread. Whether those could be done very easily is another matter.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that I am not against (and am edging toward "am for") the pedos being banned. They are just creepy in the main, and I see no reason to give them a platform - however private - to interject the objectionable into such enjoyable threads as the breast one, or to start such objectionable threads as have been started.

What exactly is the point of keeping the crap - however isolated? I mean that as an actual question, not rhetorically, though it might sound snide.

That is what I was wondering. For example:

Say Hi, Gracie, is less than welcoming now. I know that when I joined :ff: that thread was a pleasant intro. It gave me an idea of what the forum would be like and what the community would be like.

Now it is just sad. :sniff:

Actually, that is a really good point. Sorry about that Demi - I know I contributed to the Gracie thread in a negative way.

Then lets hide the science forum so Creationists dont argue.. or perhaps we should hide it from Evolutionists..

Perhaps hide any religious debate.. or anyone with a competing opinion ...

Slippery slope.

Not very slippery at all if you're clear about what you exile and why.

eta: It's not exile, anyway.

So fragment... What are you exiling..

And what is the reason?

And can that reason be used to justify exiling any other personal tastes based on majority decision?

Slippery slope.
By mysterious coincidence, the "slippery slope" argument is a fallacy.

I would approve of either A) making the current Sexuality sub-forum members only, or B) making a new sub-forum members only specifically for the tripe we don't want to show up in google searches for.

I would also like to make it clear to some who seem to be confused, such as this latest member TheoryofMind, that free thought does NOT require one give free rein to any and all topics, nor that one gives full and respectful attention to any and all posters. Perhaps such confused people should read up a bit more on what free-thought is, or take their QQ to some other forum.

If they were advocating something most find repulsive and illegal to boot, I would agree.

This sort of thing has a long and lulzie history on this forum. The motto says "Say what you think," but does not say "without being questioned, criticized, or called a moronic fuckhead." Yet moronic fuckheads continue to be surprised when it happens.

Y'know, pedopologists would probably thrive better on one of those fora moderated for "civil discourse." I hear they had a wonderful time gaming the rules at iidb back in the day. Ain't got rules to game here, dumbfuck.

I'm not. liv & vm would be.

Could probably take several forms. All I'm doing right now is pointing out that, with clarity, there need be no slippery slope.

I repeat, we're not talking about exile. And advocating pedophilia is not a mere personal taste. And majority decision doesn't come into it, this is liv & vm's board.

JoeP asserted that Sovereignism is self-refuting. Naruto and BDS claimed that it is silly and amusing, good for nothing but lulz.

If such claims really were true, censorship would be a waste of time and energy. There is no need to censor a joke. There is no need to silence or suppress that which is silly.
