Re: Fellowship of the Free, the FF Guild of Neverwinter
I went out and got the Guardian pack for the game and used the AD to get mine own nightmare in a fit of envy. Apparently, it was more horse than I could handle. (midlife crisis, OMG)

Re: Fellowship of the Free, the FF Guild of Neverwinter
The solo version of The Clockwork Tower was one of the funnest dungeon crawls so far.
I bet that the party version is even more awesome.

Re: Fellowship of the Free, the FF Guild of Neverwinter
I am a little angry at the Neverwinters right now. I finished up in Skyhold last night with my now 44 Tricksy Rogue. I enjoy soloing where I can because it allows me to explore at my own pace. I can investigate the mobs and learn how they work, plus I take breaks of random length. Teaming is fun and roflstomping through the country side really has no equal.
Most of the mobs populating the game are fairly standard in the business of MMO gaming, experience getting and grinding through. Some have funky tricks and most don't. Sometimes there are a lot of them and other times just a paltry few to mow through to get to my fat loots. And let me tell you, lag doesn't help any experience. I swear to you I was a) out of that red zone and or b) I totes had my defensive whatsit employed so fudge you, mother-fudger.
I don't recall Dark Age of Camelot having any bullshit mechanics that mobs employed. And so the theory goes, even with bullshit mechanics, the player is always at a distinct advantage when it comes to PVE. I mean, how many thousands of creatures have I decimated and how many times have all of my characters been defeated? I wager that 10,000:1 (all creatures defeated compared to all my characters defeats) is a very conservative estimate. But that doesn't really make me feel better when bullshit mechanics gets in the way of my unfair victories.
And let me assure you, those who are reading but not playing, Cryptic seems to be seeking the Bullshit Mechanics of the Decade award. Though I hate it, the one I least despise is the instant mob healing upon your character's defeat. Fast healing out of combat I can live with, but instant healing after the mother fudger put you face down in the dirt? That's a kick in . Knock up, knock down, knock back and other soft controls I guess I can live with (excepting when you can get chain stunned into oblivion). I mean, that's just being fair-ish. But really. I mean, for fudging reals. This infinite supply of minions and lieutenants and what-all is fudging insane and frustrating.
Okay, City of Heroes had a few mobs that could summon aid. But there were understood triggers and you could plan a fight around it. An elite boss passes through 1/4 healths (3/4, 1/2, 1/4) and you knew things were going to happen. It was handleable. But here in Crypticwinter they just spam the minion & etc buttons and I'm all WTFMF.
So, like I said, last night I'm finishing up in the Skyhold and I'm trollopsing through the daisies as I do. I hit this one encampment and I see there are just a lot of mother fudgers. I eat the dirt and curse at Cryptic for their saturation ratio. I mean, wtf mates, I'm just a solo single target damaging helpless little half-elf, why you gots to be mean, huh? But that's nothing compared to the mother fudging boss mother fudger. I rinse and repeat on the sumbridge 5 times. I tried different loadouts of powers, to no avail. Even after reading about how other people did it. I finally had my way with it, by which I mean barely made it through with the skin of my teeth mostly intact.
So, if you other folkens with easily bruised characters need the secret, I'll tell you. (I mean, one, bring lots of friends. But barring that, call me.)

The ridiculous spawns are the worst part of the game by far.

Re: Fellowship of the Free, the FF Guild of Neverwinter
Oh, one other thing about the boss' healing in solo battles. If the have somme sort of final form which is stronger and unlocked at some health threshold, that doesn't revert when your character dies. Do enough damage for the boss to transform, get killed and return... fight the whole battle against the stronger version of the boss. I learned this in the final battle of the Spell Plague questline, with the second attempt entirely against what I nicknamed his Mr. Lumpy form. Not fun.

We're celebrating the start of summer with a fun Neverwinter in-game event where you could earn fashion headgear, dye packs, firework items, and a unique title. We'll reveal details below on how you can participate in this five-day long event. During the event, we're also doubling the amount of Rough Astral Diamonds you can earn in game! For example, Leadership tasks, Skirmishes during Events, and daily quests are now more rewarding than ever!
Where does the Celebration of Lliira Event take place? Protector's Enclave
Who do you talk to? Disciple of Lliira. She will have more information about the event including the daily mission, Lliira's Celebration, which players can accept once per day.
How do you participate in the event? There are five fireworks mortars that will appear around Protector's Enclave. Players must activate a mortar at one of 5 locations to complete the daily mission.
What are the rewards? Once per day, players will be awarded with a small firework, a large firework, a favor token, and 2 dye packs for participating. After five days, players can turn in 5 favor tokens for a fashion headgear piece.
How do I earn the unique in-game title, "Favored of Lliira"? You must complete the daily from 3 different launcher locations to get the achievement.
What if I missed a day? Players can talk to the Trade Bar Merchant in Protector's Enclave to purchase tokens, fireworks, and dye packs.
How do you redeem tokens for the headgear? Talk to Disciple of Lliira in Protector's Enclave and turn in five tokens for your award!

Re: Fellowship of the Free, the FF Guild of Neverwinter
I'm sorry that curses is ignoring all of you people here on the . First, she's all excited for the now available Tiger Mount. I guess that's exciting or whatever? But I can't believe she totally buried the real story of this minor update.
Quote:
*NEW* Companion: Boar Companion
Fiercely loyal and unyieldingly territorial, the Boar Companion has been known to terrorize unsuspecting misanthropes in the forests around Neverwinter. Now, this stalwart companion will fight at your side, lending its sharp tusks to your noble cause!
As an uncommon quality companion, the Boar Companion has a Max Rank of 20, providing you with two different skins from which to pick.

I hereby nominate the Boar Companion as the Official Fellowship of the Free, the FF Guild of Neverwinter companion.

Re: Fellowship of the Free, the FF Guild of Neverwinter
How much is that boar in the window?
I see that it's 1500 Zen or $15. What's the AD to Zen conversion rate, if I didn't want to spend actual money?

Oof, it'll be a long time before I can afford a Boar companion and with it being limited up to Level 20 characters, I'll prolly skip it.

Re: Fellowship of the Free, the FF Guild of Neverwinter
Does the boar have a level 20 limit? My dire wolves can get to 30. I don't know if they are a higher tier than the boar but I wouldn't think so.
