Default UK GE 2015

My sympathies go out to our UK members.

I suppose this must be a little bit what it was like for you watching the 2004 US election, because I can't see why the Tories are being rewarded for their performance over the last 5 years.

Conservatism takes over the world. Well, the UK and Finland which are the only bits that matter.

The results - many more Conservative wins than the polls predicted - surely mean that a lot of people voted Con out of pig-headed self-interest, but were too ashamed to tell pollsters. Shame on you, Little Englanders.

Number of national votes cast for each MP elected

PartyVotesMPsVotes/MP
Scottish National Party1454K5626K
Conservative11316K33034K
Labour9340K23240K
Liberal Democrats2400K8300K
Green1155K11155K
UK Independents3875K13875K

So the lone Green MP received over 44 votes for each vote received by an SNP MP and the lone UKIP MP received over 149 votes for same!

I think it's about time we introduced a fairer voting system.

Good timing for the Tories... they caused a double dip recession, but after 5 years, it was over.

So they can totally fuck up as long as they don't fuck up right before the election. Just like America!

(Conversely, you can be Jimmy Carter and create 10 million jobs in four years, but if there's a recession in the election year, you're a failed president.)

How is it that you're a libertarian but you throw a party anytime a conservative wins?
