The topic you've all been waiting for: Eyebrow Dandruff
Okay, it was right there in the title, so anybody who clicks this thread has no justification for whining "ew, gross" like a big wussy.
I have big, thick eyebrows. Not freakishly so -- perhaps a 0.6 score on the Dukakkis ScaleTM -- but lush and full, like a couple of sexy caterpillars. I trim them regularly, but I don't pluck. And although I live in a swamp, the weather this time of year causes dryness.
I believe there's supposed to be a difference between dandruff and dry scalp, but that's like that accent/dialect distinction that almost nobody gives a crap about, so shaddap.
So anyway, this time of year my luscious caterpillars get all itchy, and if I make the mistake of scratching them, it's like a winter wonderland up in heah. I've tried various moisturizers that sometimes work, when I remember to use them. A couple times I even tried dandruff shampoo/dry scalp conditioner on them, which works for like an hour, i.e., not a solution at all.
Anybody have a particularly effective treatment? I'm thinking of something I can carry with me, preferably something that doesn't make my eyebrow hair look like I've found a new and particularly pathetic way to go punk.

I think the cascading snow effect actually needs video.

Shave 'em off and draw 'em back on. Problem solved!

I think it's just dry skin, maybe try a good moisturizer?
I sometimes have the same trouble and I have girlie eyebrows and somewhat oily skin elsewhere.

This. Try to remember to use it. Moisturize during your drying routine after you wash your face, because the water evaporating off dries out the skin. Also, what do you wash your face with (besides dandruff shampoo)? If it's regular body soap, that will cause dryness as well. Try a facial cleanser that won't dry you out.
Wash with something this:
and moisturize immediately after with something like this:
I like that one because it's really light and you can rub it right onto the eyebrows and lashes and nostrils and mouth and it doesn't leave a gross residue.
Sorry, it's more of a systemic solution than a carry it with you one, but it's what I got.

Well, at least one thing on your face is.
Thanks, ES. That sounds like something worth trying.

Ditto proper cleansing and moisturizing. You also might want to try a facial scrub. I get really dry skin this time of year and I have to use a facial scrub to get rid of the flakies. Otherwise I'd have like dandruff face or something. You don't need to do it every day. Start out once or twice a week, otherwise you'll rub yourself raw.

Make a pen and ink drawing of a charming covered bridge scene and just hold it under your face every time you get the urge to scratch.

Chap stick. I think there are a couple of them that are just mostly moisturizer and you can toss one in your pocket and one in your desk. Then you can be all like, I've just got chapped lips like NORMAL people!!
Oh and just put it on with your finger because I'm thinking eyebrows would grab too much of it at once.

I left my beloved facial scrub back home - $80, but I flirted with the gorgeous Israeli boy who sold it to me and got 50% off.
Erm. It's from the Dead Sea products, if you have one of those in your mall.
This one.
