Insulaton from Detractors

It is possible that I have more to learn about the process of creating insulation for myself, from criticism or unkind remarks, by those who have not found their way to agree with me a 100%.

Donald Trump has been an example for me, as to how a rich man can protect himself from his detractors.

I do not have all the resources available to Trump, but it is likely that I have not practiced all options to the epitome of my potential perfection.

I admit to recently starting to read two books on Mindset.

So I am leaving this post, with the idea that further study is needed.

I can't think of Donald Trump as a good example of anything.

Donald Trump doesn't insulate himself from detractors. He holds on to petty insults for decades and retaliates on social media by insulting others.

Why would you insulate yourself from criticism? Better to see if it has merit, and then only ignore whatever you do not consider useful.

Hopefully further study will include the possibility that you are not correct about everything, or anything at all. Those who don't agree with you 100%, or at all, might be more correct than you are. How do you think that Donald Trump protects himself from his detractors, other than not understanding what they are saying.

Exactly. The better you know your opposition's position, the better you understand why you hold yours. You don't want to be insulated from detractors - you use them as fuel. Don't get so arrogant to think that your "100%" is always right. Listening to detractors and taking in what they're saying can not only grow your confidence in your own position, but it just might also help you see where you're wrong.

You can't insulate yourself from criticism or unkind remarks. And, you can't insulate yourself fully from your immediate feelings. You might feel hurt, shaken, angry... But you are in control of what you do with all of it - your reply to them.
