The person in the famous "Nevermind" cover is suing the band as a "victim of child sexual abuse imagery." I don't agree that this image is child sexual abuse, but maybe the person has a compelling case. It was dismissed because the statute of limitations ran out.

A federal appeals court ruled against grunge rock group Nirvana on Thursday, reviving a lawsuit about the band’s use of a naked baby on the cover of its 1991 album “Nevermind.”

The federal court decided that every republication of the picture counts as a new potential injury. It didn't make any judgment on the actual injury or any other claims.

Seriously, This kinda feels like a money grab or some sort of performative religious conversion, as if he manages to get the Nevermind cover declared a child abuse image, the next question will be whether they arrest him for promoting and profiting from that same image because he seems to have spent at least some time showing it to others and posing in public with it.

It seems like a waste of everyone's time, but I think I'm OK with the decision to reverse the statute of limitations ruling. A re-issue would certainly draw new attention to the image, potentially causing new injury.

I just don't know what the injury is, and I'm skeptical.

My technique is to put the half with the pit in it on the cutting board, pit side facing up, and then use the heavy knife to stick into it (with the blade, not the tip). Then just twist and pull it out. Then you do have to bang the handle of the knife on the edge of the trash can to get it to come off the knife...

I definitely would never try doing that while holding the avocado though, that pit is slippery

Meanwhile, apparently for years and years my parents thought avocados were way too much work to be worth eating at home... because they would peel the avocado, instead of cutting it in half and scooping out the insides.

Unfortunately, they saw my brother do it the proper way before I saw them do it. So they've still never shown me how to "peel" an avocado.
