The first match is MonCapitan2002 vs ceptimus.

MonCap gets to choose which pieces he wants to play with, and to make the first move.

Question. Couldn't we use the character map to find the ALT codes to type out the text the smilies are displaying?

Good idea on the ALT codes - I didn't realise they were available as just characters as well as the smiley gif images. They look neater when you're typing them into the table this way, but I suppose it takes just as long to do and it's harder to remember the ALT codes than the smiley codes - so there are pros and cons. :chin:

ETA: the up arrow characters get aligned to the left as you can see, rather than the centre - so perhaps the smiley is still best for the up arrow.

It sounded like a good idea to me at the time.

No worries. I think the game is pretty much over now. After my next move (below) it will take me two more moves to 'escape' my remaining piece. You still need four moves to escape yours, so I think I've won.

This game didn't seem to have much of the strategic interest that one reads about on the web - I suppose that's because neither of us really tried to block the other player very much - we mainly just got on with moving our pieces towards the finishing line. :shrug:

Maybe future games (if any) will be more interesting.

Yeah. Since I can't move down, there really isn't much I can do. I concede defeat. It might be more interesting with more squares and pieces to play with. I actually did try blocking you for a while, but it didn't work all that well.
