ATL floodwatch?
How are those of you in the ATL and surrounding areas doing tonight? I heard the downtown connector was closed due to flooding during evening rush hour, and half my facebook friends have been having a really bad day even though some of them didn't have to go to work. Looks like more rain is on the way tonight and tomorrow.

We're still above water, but I am damn tired of the rain, I tell you what.
Thanks for asking.

Blame it on those Christian's who prayed for rain. They forgot to tell God to stop when full.

I quite like it. A few power flickers here and there and heinous traffic are the worst I've encountered, and those happen even when it's bone dry. My rosemary has grown an inch in 4 days, for reals.

Re: ATL floodwatch?
There was flash flooding here in Tulsa this afternoon. I hydroplaned all the way to East Tulsa to take my grandson to his mother.

Stupid men trying to swim across washes on dares getting swept away, and idiots trying to drive across rivers dying in their cars. Flood waters are dangerous, people!
At least I can count on FFers to stay sane and safe, right?

They had serious flooding in Turkey too last week, 30 people died or something.
I hope you are all safe though.

Re: ATL floodwatch?
It's ok here on the north side of Fulton County, they shut my road down last night from flooding from Big Creek. It's since reopened. Still haven't heard from my aunt and uncle in Fayetteville, but mom, dad and brother are OK. I feel slightly better knowing that my mom doesn't have to work today so she won't have to get out in this mess.
I-20, I-285, and I-575 have portions closed due to flooding. Most of south Cobb is underwater, Six Flags is completely flooded. We've had 10" of rain here at Casa de Curses since Saturday evening but all the standing water is now clear. I can see my grass again!

Yesterday I was thinking if I had a garden I'd be totally happy.

My bell peppers, after a long summer of not really doing much, have doubled in size in the last week. It's amazing.

Re: ATL floodwatch?
Just found out that my family who lives in Atlanta did not have their home flooded, so I'm very glad. I think they might have had to leave their neighborhood by boat, though, since their pics show water 3 - 5 feet over the roads in some places near them yesterday evening.

Re: ATL floodwatch?
Tulsa's flooding was fairly minor in comparison, mainly because some massive socialist storm drainage projects completed after some major flooding in the 1980s.
