Jury Duty

I received a summons to jury duty back on January 22, I managed to get it postpone 6 months until June 22. I was summoned once before about 10 years ago and I went every day for about 2 weeks but was never selected,

Has anyone here actually served on a jury and handed down a verdict. I would appreciated it if you tell me what it was like.

If I get selected this time I trying to think of ways to get out of it. I don't believe in passing judgment on other people and in Reward and Punishment. I believe in mediation.

Don't worry, they probably won't want you deciding anybody's fate anyway.

People act like it's so hard to get out of if you don't want to do it, but i you sincerely said you don't believe in passing judgement, you will be dismissed. No sane prosecutor wants someone like that on the jury.

I disagree, I'm sure there are some lawyers that would want a jury stacked with Bobs.


I've had a drivers license since 1971. I've been a registered voter since 1976. I've been a homeowner off and on since 1977. And I've never been called for jury duty. My employer even pays me to be on jury duty, plus I get to keep the pittance the court pays jurors in addition to my salary. I want to be on a jury. I WANT TO BE ON A JURY!!! Which is probably why I will never be on one.

Bob wouldn't want to be on an actual jury because he would have actual experience and it would ruin his extrapolations.

Unfair. I gave my reasons why I didn't want to be on a jury. I also asked if anyone could tell me what it's like. If you have been on a jury then please tell me what it was like.

Bob, those would be my experiences, not yours. Don't tell me that you now extrapolate from the experiences of others?

I said that hear/say experience from other people is one form of experience that I learn from.
