Re: Another f’in new guy
Huntsville also seems to have an awesome library. I'm on a committee with their head of computer education and their lab is huge compared to ours. From the website, the whole library looks great and well funded. I'm both impressed and jealous as hell.
Welcome, by the way.

Pops isn’t particularly good with other breeds. Not just small ones either. He doesn’t like big dogs when he doesn’t think they are acting right. I have a theory about why but some will argue with me about it. I believe that one of the causes of this issue is that most dogs don’t know how to act or communicate like dogs.
The racing greys are raised in packs from the time they are born until they leave the track. That’s at least 18 to 24 months even for a hound that runs in a race. During that time they experience the complete cycle of K9 cognitive development and learn to communicate with other hounds on the same level as a pack of wolves. Most household pets never get that experience. They are taken out of the pack at a very young age and never learn many of the communications skills necessary for membership in a pack of dogs. So when a strange dog approaches a couple of greyhounds exhibiting what is perceived as aggressive behavior who can blame them for responding in kind. What would you do if someone aggressively got in your face and told you to grovel before them or get your ass kicked?

I spend more time in Destin than Gulf Shores. Probably because Mom and Dad's neighbor of 40 years has a couple of condos there that she lets us us for the cleaning fees.

Awesome. What's a homunculus? Do they jump out of trees onto wildlife?

Re: Another f’in new guy
It's the public library. I'm kind of amazed considering the state of public library funding these days. Oh, damn! Now you made me look again and I found out they're having a Harry Potter Lego night on top of the John Milton author tea. I am so freaking jealous!

Re: Another f’in new guy
It surprises me too considering the staff cut backs they’ve experienced the last couple of years.

Apparently we were lucky that your usual forum was blacked out. Just out of curiosity, how did you find us?

Normally I only “see” 7:14…. But that is a remnant of an age that passed long ago.
