I'd like to hear that. Let's Dance is one of my favorite Bowie records, and I think SRV only played a handful of gigs before quitting, supposedly because Bowie was being a cheap prick.
SRV only made it through rehearsals, he quit two days before the tour started because Bowie wanted him to agree to a clause stating that he was not allowed to promote Double Trouble (who were unsigned and unrecorded at the time) while on tour with Bowie.

I think I already told my John Cooper Clarke story somewhere, but I can't remember.

Good for The Sopranos.

in a marble room I was alone
somewhere in the heart of rome
through gardens long since overgrown
down old arcades of broken stone
I met the ghost of al capone ...

paralysed in precious stone
canonized - I stand alone
in the clouds of paradise - my home
a million orchids deck the throne
of the man who numbered al capone
the man who numbered all his bones
a personal friend of the burning tree
the guardian angels are working for me.

My buddy Matt Liban's hot new combo "CHIEF, the Greatest Rock Band in the World," performing their hot new number, ManClimber, at their myspace page. Or, alternatively, the live version.

What can I say about Claudette?
Ain't seen her since January
She could be respectably married
Or running a whorehouse in Buenos Aires.

Nazi Book Burning March

(scroll down)

eta: Can I put that in my signature? That'd be awesome. So everytime I posted, you'd hear the "Nazi Book Burning March."

Frank Zappa - San Ber'dino

She lives in Mojave in a Winnebago
His name is Bobby, he looks like a potato

She's in love with a boy
From the rodeo
Who pulls the rope on the chute
When they let those suckers go
(Yeah-hey! Suckers!)

He got slobberin' drunk at the Palomino
They give him thirty days in San Ber'dino

Well there's forty-four men
Stashed away in Tank "C"
An' there's only one shower
But it don't apply to Bobby

You may think they're
Dumb an' lonely
But you're wrong
'Cause their love is strong
Stacked-up hair
An' a cheap little ring
They don't care
'Cause it don't mean a thing

Looka there . . .
They don't care

Best-est way that
They can feel-o
Out on the highway
Rollin' a wheel-o
He's her Tootsie
She's for real-o
Trailer park heaven
It's a real good deal-o
Real good deal-o
Real good deal-o
Real good deal-o
Real good deal-o

The rest of their lives
In San Ber'dino
Gonna spend the rest of their lives
In San Ber'dino
Gonna spend the rest of their lives
Down in San Ber'dino
Come on with me
Come on with me
Come on with me
Down in San Ber'dino
Just 60 miles, 60 miles
Down the San Ber'dino freeway
They got some dark green air
An' you can choke all day
That's right!
Gonna spend the rest of their lives
Rest of their lives
Rest of their lives

Say now,
Ain't talkin' 'bout Fontana
Ain't talkin' 'bout uh uh
Ain't talkin' 'bout uh uh
Ain't talkin' 'bout uh uh
Ain't talkin' 'bout the Redlands, no no
ZULCH is the auto works
I'm tellin' you
That's where they take
All the cars that they hurt
Come on and let's all go down to San Ber'dino
Ooo-ooo
Ooo-ooo
Ooo-ooo
Let's-a go down down down
Down in San Ber'dino
Wouldja b'lieve it
Wouldja b'lieve it now, come on
San Ber'dino
San Ber'dino
San Ber'dino
(Got to call it)
San Ber'dino
(C'mere)
San Ber'dino
San Ber'dino
San Ber'dino
San Ber'dino
(Oh, God, they all stay there)
The rest of their lives
In San Ber'dino

Oh Bobby, I'm sorry you gotta head like a potato
I really am
(Ketchup!)

Slayer - Postmortem

Funeral held for the depression of man
Holds the key to his own death
Entering a tomb of a corpse yet conceived
Tighten the tourniquet around your neck

Sifting away the debris of hated life
Cold touch of death begins to chill your spine
Seeking life beyond your perishment
Repeating words echoing through your mind

Chanting lines of blind witchery
To save yourself from extinction
Wanting to die is your reason to live
New life born from the oppressed

Taste your blood as it trickles through the air
Another casualty beyond the shadows you fall
Losing ground, the fate you feel it draws near
Fatality, reality, you await the final call!

My sinful glare at nothing holds thoughts of death behind it
Skeletons in my mind commence tearing at my sanity
Vessels in my brain carry death until my birth
Come and die with me forever, share insanity

Do you want to die!

The waves of blood are rushing near, pounding at the walls of lies
Turning off my sanity, reaching back into my mind
Non-rising body from the grave showing new reality
What I am, what I want, I'm only after death!

I accidentally started listening to Beck's Midnite Vultures because of dumb shuffle, and now I am stuck in a loop of listening to Hollywood Freaks over and over and over.

Because that song really kind of sums up my life and shit.
