When it comes to protection of women and children, our fatherly/husband instincts should kick in and men should force women to comply in taking a seat in the lifeboats. If no children are involved then the woman should be allowed her free choice.
|
Oh deary dear.
Quote:
If I did, let me clear that up.
If a woman has no reason to stay on the sinking ship, then she should displace any man in the lifeboats except for one who is assigned it's safety and control.
|
That is not clearing up, that is very strange backpedalling that assumes that we are concerned with lifeboat-management, not misogyny. Also LOL that it is automatically a man who looks after the safety and control of the lifeboat.
Quote:
I think it a man's duty to him family to be to put those ahead of himself. That would include the families of other men and other men, doing the same, would insure that all the men there put family ahead of themselves.
|
We are well aware of your personal biases. But the real question is: why do you feel it right to force women to act according to your personal bias?
Quote:
We live in a misogynous world

You certainly do your part to keep it that way.
Quote:
and it seems that men have forgotten their first duty to humanity and that would be to insure the security of their families.
All who ignore their first moral priority can and will join the Captain Coward Club.

Again, you already made us well aware of your biases. It is a simple repetition of the ancient way that men have always justified paternalism: by reducing questions of equality to something not unlike biological determinism. The privileged position of males is explained as being the biological or essential function of males. Men are there to protect their women and their families. From other males, mostly, but this problem is never really considered. And this explains why they should get to make all the decisions.
This handily evades the question if it is right that males have a privileged position where decision-making is concerned, or of this even makes sure the best decisions get made.
Incidentally, if it is a males first moral priority to look after his family, then it is his moral imperative to kick someone else's wife and kids off the boat.

Have you met Iftikhar?

Can we put them in a thread together, and then lock the thread for all time?

You did not even read the O.P. and that explains your rather unintelligent view.

BWAHAHAH
Yes, I read the OP. I gave it more time and effort than it deserved, and my view of its worth is that it's far less entertaining than the response that I gave.
In fact, you were lucky to get noticed at all.

Another addiction studies that proves that food is as addictive as crack. Especially cheese. Is an entire generation being ruined by cheese? Should we not at least vet who gets to buy this dangerous substance? Should parents not be given tools to make sure they can control the exposure of their children to cheese? 50% of young people have been harmed by cheese!

You know full well that doesn't exactly narrow it down, Mr. Sectus.
Anyway, I think he means this one.

lisarea, you diabolical hussy. Now how can I split that? It makes no sense without Viv's post and subsequent discussion but won't make sense if I move it to the other thread.
