The Catch-All Chicken Heart Thread
Ensign Steve recently expressed saddened disbelief that there was no catch-all thread on this here Forum of Free Thought Talk and and Emporium of Chat. Since even our new Dutch/Mick friend has detected our greater-than-average appreciation of this noble creature, I figure it's time to correct the oversight.
This is the thrad where you put the awesome chicken pictures you come across, be they your personal pride and joy or just something cool you found this one time. I shall start where all such things should start, with the Portrait of Henri Groulx, (Canada, ca. 1920):

Here's a mama and babby from my internet friend's farm blog. The other babby didn't make it.

Re: The Catch-All Chicken Heart Thread
Anyone remember a picture they wish they had? When I was young we had Bantam chickens. Once the rooster was on my dads lap and my dad yawned and the rooster was looking in his open mouth. It seemed funny at the time.

I am setting off to collect my chickens - 3 black rock pullets and a cockerel if they have one. I wonder how my neighbors will like me by next week, when they have had time to get really acquainted with their new alarm clock.

I don't keep chickens, what with being in the middle of a major metropolitan city and all, but I do have a special place in my heart for this video:

That's not a general chicken heart thread, though. That's for the lucky, lucky people who have chickens of their own to discuss and share pictures of their greatness. This thread is a more of a "hey check out this awesome chicken I found/drew/saw in a movie" thread for the rest of us, although of course as I said in the OP, you flock-holders are also very much welcome to share awesome chicken pictures you've taken.

That is so adorably puffy and so cinammony and I love how you've only actually drawn feathers on the neck, wingtip and tail. It's beautiful, Piney, for serious.

Re: The Catch-All Chicken Heart Thread
Okay, so those chickens I posted are silkies, according to the farmer lady whose chickens they are. So then today at lunch, dude was telling me that silkie meat is black! Is he for serious, or are the rednecks playing another rousing game of "what stupid shit can we convince the carpetbagger is true?"
