Paranoia - Mission 1
*** PLEASE NOTE, CITIZEN! THE FOLLOWING COMMUNICATION IS CLASSIFICATION LEVEL RED! ***
Welcome to the RAD sector troubleshooters! That pleasant green glow you see is the radiation from many past nuclear "incidents". Isn't it lovely? Your Friend Computer thought you would enjoy the view.
You all have been selected to form an elite squad of troubleshooters to aid in removing commie mutant traitors that infest and attempt to destroy Alpha Complex from within. Your first mission is to seek out and remove the traitors that infest your own group. Remember: You can't trust anyone, except the computer.
Rules Reminders:

You are STRONGLY encouraged to communicate often via PM. A lot of the game will be played in private. If you don't participate in that you will be missing out on a lot of back stabbing.

You will all vouch for each other if you are all in the same society and can convince the computer that all the dead were "mutant commie traitors".
This is very different from mafia. If you have to see it in mafia terms it is like a cult game with no recruitment.

Re: Paranoia - Mission 1
Ok, so I am getting messages from some of the players, and some of them happen to be implying they are of the same group as I. Am I to assume they may be lying?
Forgive my ignorance, just need to get my feet under me here, it has been a long Monday.

Re: Paranoia - Mission 1
We have been put in a group together by the computer- we are all troubleshooters. And we are all citizens. Unless there are dirty commie mutants among us. Or traitors to society and friend computer.
If citizens are implying they are in some sort of secret group, or suggesting loyalty to each other over loyalty to friend computer, then they are of course trouble in section RAD and should be shot, as that is our mission, to troubleshoot in RAD sector.

Re: Paranoia - Mission 1
Your mission is to find other players that share one of the same secret societies and kill all the others. Or just be the last one standing. But I think team work will be necessary.
If you are in secret societies A and B, then you can win with another player who is in B and C, or a different player who is in A and D. But all three of you couldn't win together. You'd have to pick one to kill.

Re: Paranoia - Mission 1
We have 72 hours to chat in public and private about sorting the players into groups of three, looking to have our group have the majority at end game.

There are ten (10) players and three (3) groups, thus there must be a single (1).

So, we have 72 hours to get in a 'night move', once all night moves are in the day will end, regardless the time.

What makes you think there are exactly 3 groups?

It seems like the right amount for a cult type game, I suppose there could be 5 groups of 2..

Re: Paranoia - Mission 1
Friend Computer, what sort of punishment is justly visited upon Troubleshooters who edit their official communiques in your talk forum after the fact?

Re: Paranoia - Mission 1
Ftr, if I have the option to kill, I will kill a player that has not communicated with me in private, I must assume that this player is of an opposing team.

Chunks fixed a quote tag (he made no content changes that I noticed), which prompted me to ask.
