I got an annoying telephone call today. The caller wanted me to donate money to improve police pay and also to lobby for tougher sentencing laws.
Really? While I'm inclined to assume that most police officers are decent people who deserve to be paid well for their service, I'm not especially inclined to agree with the premise that a big problem with our criminal justice system is that our sentencing laws are just too lenient.
After I got off the phone, I went right to the "Do Not Call" site and registered. Probably 2/3 of the telephone calls I receive are from people trying to sell me stuff, and I'm sick of it.

Most of those solicitation calls are for fraudulent charities anyway. A while back, one of the local sheriff's offices sued one for pretending they were calling from them.
AND there are a ton of mostly disease-related fake telemarketing charities run by this one family that's gotten filthy rich tricking people into thinking they were donating to kids with cancer and stuff like that.
Never give money to organizations that make unsolicited telemarketing calls. They're 99% fraud, and the 1% that aren't are still spending their resources on telemarketing.
I know I shouldn't be shocked anymore when a pig literally gets away with murder, but the specifics of this one still shock me.

We used to get unsolicited calls several times a day, and it's really fucking annoying, especially if you want to sleep in the middle of the day. You don't know if it's important or not until you get up and look at the display or take the call. I read a couple of weeks ago that one of these companies (in Germany) has been fined 300 000 euros for this shit and since then, the calls seem to have decreased a lot.
Pigs arrest teen, allegedly rape her, claim it was consensual (which is impossible when you are under arrest). Bonus assholery: NYDN publishes picture of victim but not of accused rapist pigs.

It sounds like the professor who wrote this will be submitting more content to LGM and also has a book coming out which I may look into later.

His attorney says these are just jokes and his client is not a racist at all. You see, shooting black people is funny because of [insert non-racist reason to find that funny]. I'm sure that'll hold up in court real good.
Protests shut down Sacramento Kings game after video footage reveals a young (black) man was gunned down by the cops in his own back yard without ever identifying themselves as police let alone taking any more than a moment before shooting, and instead of opening a murder investigation on why a man with a cell phone was gunned down within moments of the police seeing him, they get put on paid vacation time like some sort of reward for the kill. One of the owners of the Kings addressed the protest on the court after the game and had nothing but praise for the protests. And while he's not white (Indian) he's rich, so maybe his clear support will be heard.
Are you suggested that if the police were provided with knowledge and critical thinking and the training to use it that the world might be a better place?
Police officer enters the wrong apartment thinking it's her own, murders black man who lived there.
After the murder police search the place and release the fact 10 grams of marijuana was found in his apartment, in attempt to smear the victim and justify murder by an officer. Let's never be mistaken, the police are only out for themselves, all others are potential enemies to be shot on sight. Botham Shem Jean: Police 'trying to smear' shooting victim - BBC News
As we all known marijuana makes people hulking and dangerous, this poor officer was lucky to get out alive when faced with such a monster, mistakes happen, like barging into the wrong apartment, but marijuana kills. /s
