Re: Health Care Reform Dead
lol, did you know the Commonwealth Fund was started by big money oil, Standard Oil to be exact?
It is a tool of the elite class!!
Its the rich people your ilk claims is out to get the little guy, but if they feed you something that sounds good, you eat it up.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
They brag about doing the research to get Obamacare passed.
Obamacare was nothing but a transfer of wealth from the worker to the elite class through Big Insurance.
So in practice, they have hurt the little guy through their efforts in health care, but they got richer!!

Yes. As I suspected, you did not refute on a point by point basis, indicate where and how their statistics were wrong, or address the data in any meaningful way. You simply attacked it as a biased source without any reasoning behind your claims. Way to cling to your cognitive bias. As predicted, your hands are busy waving so fast one would think you're in a room with Zika infected mosquitoes.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
I pointed out how they did not use the data which hurts their case, and use manipulated data which helps their case.
I also pointed out they are a front group for the elite to trick fools like yourself into supporting the worker giving more to the elite class.
As it is said, it is easier to trick someone than to tell someone they have been tricked.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
What data point do you want refuted? That the US spends more on care? Well that is because in the US we have more access to care and the best care technology, thus is costs more.
This is what I mean with their false presentation, and you are not getting.
Having more access to better care is not a negative, yet you have been tricked into thinking it is.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
Better access to better drugs is presented as a negative.
You need this 'refuted'? lmao!!
You need me to explain why better access to better drugs is a positive compared to less access to inferior drugs...
No wonder the elite can get away with the proles begging them to take away from the workers and give to the rich.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
So the NHS is fighting parents in the UK courts, and the European Human Rights courts, to disallow them to bring their sick child the US for potentially life saving treatment.
Forcing a child to die to prevent a PR nightmare for their socialized systems... wow

Mitochondrial therapy for a mitochondrial disease.
Social systems like the NHS retard medical progress, in addition to killing people to save money and face.

Deflect deflect deflect. And Trump is still an idiot, and McConnell is still a skidmark on Satan's g-string.
Anyone who doesn't get a tax cut from the AHCA big enough to pay for a private security service is a sucker. I mean, a thin brick wall and an aluminium gate just ain't gonna stop a rioting mob even if the HOA adds in a rent-a-cop.

Nixon and Bush were the two biggest government takeovers of health-care prior to Obama.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
The ACA was not a Republican proposal. "Romneycare" was not a Republican proposal either, and it's a misnomer to call it that, which gives credit to Romney for things which were not his ideas, including things he opposed.
No, Obamacare Wasn't a "Republican" Proposal - The American Prospect
It was perhaps useful to promote this misconception at one point, in order to paint the GOP as hypocrites. Which they were, when it came specifically to the insurance mandate. That was a feature of the Heritage plan, and the GOP only attacked the mandate as unconstitutional after it became part of the Democratic plan. But otherwise the features of the plans are not similar. Republicans have not so much had "expand Medicaid" or "pay for subsidies to the poor with taxes on the rich" as part of their plans, which is why Obamacare is not a Republican plan.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
H.R. 1628, Obamacare Repeal Reconciliation Act of 2017 | Congressional Budget Office
Quote:
In CBO and JCT’s estimation, under this legislation, about half of the nation’s population would live in areas having no insurer participating in the nongroup market in 2020 because of downward pressure on enrollment and upward pressure on premiums. That share would continue to increase, extending to about three-quarters of the population by 2026.
|
Half the country with no individual polices available at all. Three quarters by 2026. :brilliant:

As usual, any shallow reading of the facts that suits you is what you run with, Jerome. The essential problem is not the mitochondrial disease. The problem is that the disease has caused extensive structural brain damage that the treatment will not fix - if successful, which is by no means certain, it will merely stop it from causing more brain damage.
The medical staff in question feel there is very little chance of this even slowing the disease down, and that even if it halted it, there is no realistic hope of the baby surviving. There is simply too much damage to the brain even if the treatment resulted in instant and complete success. He is also is a considerable amount of pain, which is another thing the treatment will not be able to address.
The decision had to be made: do we let the parents try some last-ditch effort despite the suffering and hope for a miracle? If we do so, we must keep the baby alive and in agony for months, betting on a million to one chance.
On the other hand, not letting them means to let the baby die, and leave the parents wondering for ever.
A very difficult case to decide on. But certainly not one where you can just lazily and self-complacently say "it is mitochondrial treatment for mitochondrial disease" and then make a whole stack of assumptions because that fits your bizarro narrative. In fact, doing that in a really sad case like this is some grade-a douchebaggery.

Love to help! Medial is an adjective, and refers to a number of things; one example being located close to the median plane of the body.
Here, I'll use it in context:
"Jerome is expanding his medical* knowledge** by shoving his head up his rectum, in a lateral- as opposed to medial***- movement, while shouting quickly thrown troll hooks from his basket of low-grade Alex Jones bullshit. "Sandy Hook was faked government plot," he hollered, inside his own rectum. Jerome was on a medical* quest to determine if he could just be annoying enough to prevent colon cancer from ever occurring by his very presence and words."HIV is a myth," he muttered. "Clintons murdered Vince Foster! Barack Obama ineligible to be president because Vattel! FEMA Camps for Obama plan victims: first he will take away their bullets and guns! Anthropogenic Global Warming a hoax! Climategate! Hockey Sticks!"He wiped the froth from his chin and then laughed gleefully. "Rubes! Morons! Sheeple! Don't you get it? It's all rigged! I got it right away! You losers don't get it, but I do! Both parties just one party! Everything you do benefits them and proves I'm right because I'm the Juggernaut, bitch! Parasites! I'm a job creator with five medium-sized corporations! Too bad you don't totally get it like I do!" The gnome roared with laughter, until another voice in his rectum startled him; he stopped and listened intently. He regretted forgetting to bring a headlamp. But he was secure in the thought that expanding his medical* knowledge** could only be a good thing."
-from Jerks I Give Very Few Shits About, pg 12.
*the term here is used loosely.
**the term here is used pejoratively.
***the defining difference being whether one is simply shoving their head up their own ass, or shoving their head up their own ass sideways.
