Udacity - Introduction to Statistics (ST101)

Sebastian Thrun asked his student to get the word out in an effort to create an enrollment record for an online course.

I took a statistics class once a long time ago, and the one thing I remember is the professor saying "Give a good Statistician the raw data and he will prove anything you want."

This I heard more recently, "63% of all statistics are made up on the spot."

It turns out that in the robotic car he built, he uses a lot of statistical techniques to locate the vehicle among obstacles. His car works pretty well so there must be something to it.

There is no doubt that statistics will work, depending on what you want to do.
