One day, in the middle of two nights, two boys arose to shoot a half dozen Walmart trucks and two other vehicles on Highway 75 north of Tulsa. That's right, two 14 year old boys have been charged with eight counts of assault with a deadly weapon and eight counts of reckless handling of firearms. One boy's father ratted them out.

I am not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that's not how this works.

The judge agreed with me, tossed it, instructed Sovereign Cox to work with her attorney.

They were all insanely stupid. The guy who shot his friend (child?) throwing targets for him - what was he thinking? Or leaning up your gun on a sign?!

I fence with, you know, swords. We use crappy, blunt metal poles with plastic bobs on the end. You could take someone's eye out if you tried, but they're pretty harmless.

And we behave more carefully with those things than some of those people. We don't stand those things upright, or wave them around without masks on. It just floors me how casually those people behaved with incredibly dangerous weapons. Eugh.

When I see these sort of vids on YouTube, I always ask myself the following questions:

Is this the sort of activity that anyone would normally video?
Who was holding the camera, or was it on a tripod?
If someone is holding the camera, do they react in an appropriate manner when the 'incident' occurs?
How well done is the filming / video editing / uploading? Does it look like it would need a greater level of intelligence than that displayed by the 'actors'?
Would someone really want to upload a video showing themself to be this stupid?
Does the YouTube video have adverts? If so how many views has it received and how much money has it made for the owner?

Which is not to say that the incidents shown here aren't real - just that you should be sceptical of such videos on YouTube or those TV 'home video compilation' programs. When there's money to be made, people don't mind staging things that make them look stupid...

The chick one is less funny once you know there's a whole dick prank of loading a really hot load in something like a shotgun and giving no instructions so the kick knocks her over.

The first one is believable in that hospitals do get a decent number of leg/thigh wounds when they get gun accidents, I wonder why...
