It's nice to see proof of how awesome Donna was. No wonder I liked her so much, she apparently got the best writing of the era.

Series 10 now has an air date: April 15. This means that, for once, Americans have a reason to look forward to that date.
On a more disappointing note, Peter Capaldi will be leaving the show after this year's Christmas special. He's been one of my favourite Doctors and I will certainly miss him. On the other hand, they've done an almost unimpeachable job casting the show, so I'm looking forward to seeing who gets cast next.
I'm not sure this has been mentioned yet, but this will also be Moffat's last series as showrunner. I'll miss him too, but Chris Chibnall will probably do a good job.

I'm not that sad to see Moffat leave, tbh. I haven't enjoyed the show since just before Tennant left. Some of that has to do with the way he drives the cool stuff into the ground. I wish someone could bring back some of the darkness of the Eccleston Doctor. Admittedly I have only seen a few Capaldi episodes, but they didn't really catch me. I will see if I can catch up on them.
Several of Capaldi's episodes have been among my all-time favourites. In particular, I'd cite "Listen" and an awful lot of series 9 (particularly "The Girl Who Died"/"The Woman Who Lived", the Zygon episodes, and "Face the Raven"/"Heaven Sent"/"Hell Bent"). Capaldi can get almost Waters of Mars-level dark at times, too. I will agree that Moffat has been rather hit-or-miss as showrunner at times, but there is very little of series 9 that I would have changed.

I agree. I've loved Moffatt's work in the past, but I don't like his Doctor Who work. In fact, it's made me seriously question whether legacy shows should ever be given to their fanboys. My counterpoint to that is the DCAU, which makes a strong argument for the process.

I've really enjoyed Capaldi as the Doctor, but Mrs. S, not so much. We both liked Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith. As for the next Doctor, I'm with Billie Piper--let's go with a woman!
