Was it lame of me to be too busy checking out Oprah's nice outfit to pay much attention to what the publisher was saying?

Well I did play the video back again to see what she was saying. :clever: And I was glad to see Oprah admit that she made a mistake and handed Frey and Lily's asses back to them on an engraved silver platter.

When asked if he would be writing a book about this disgrace, Frey, the writer of a book that supposably told the hard truth no matter how bad it made him look, has said no. Why? (wait for it).... because he doesn't want to capitalize on the situation.

Ok, so the guy is willing to capitalize on a girls death among other things but when it comes to his own disgrace it's a no go. Talk about a spineless lying bastard.

But I was just waiting to hear about the deception through his eyes as a 'memoir.'

I can just see it now, meetings with the president on how to 'bend the truth' and BS the American people. Dodging assassination attempts from the multinational capitalistic twelve step corporation who stood to loose billions through his denouncement of their satanic practices. And the Alien invasion of his mind using blue cotton candy. It would be priceless.

I actually felt a little sorry for him during that Oprah interview. Not that he didn't have it coming, but some of the things she dogged him about actually seemed pretty reasonable to me. Like his claim that he disguised various people by way of changing details (eg making Lily's suicide a hanging instead of slitting her wrists) to protect their privacy.

I'm still not certain I believe there is a Lily. I'm not sure how changing the method of death really conceals someone's identity. How many people know multiple people who committed suicide in different ways while in a small time frame? How common is hanging versus slitting wrists? It doesn't seem that one would offer any more protection over the other.
Of course she also hammered him lying about his whereabouts before she killed herself

I never heard of this Frey guy until the brouhaha over his book started up. Liv, did you always hate this Frey guy, or is your animosity towards him a result of his blatant lies?

I found his writing style annoying and his overall attitude as depicted in the book sorely trying, but I totally fell for it nonetheless. It's the weaseliness of his answers when TSG put him on the spot that engendered the acid resentment in me.

In related news, looks like the movie might be on the skids.

Super Dave Osborne was on Jimmy Kimmel last night with his book, "A Billion Little Pieces." He took the Larry King interview with Frey and edited himself into it, answering Larry's questions and talking on the phone with Oprah. It was pretty comical.

He's Albert Brooks's brother, and has been doing this phony daredevil schtick for ages on various comedy shows, including his own, years ago. He turns up on Jimmy Kimmel now and then doing these hilarious, off-color bits. He usually brings some video that he edits himself into. Too bad this one's not online, you'd laugh your ass off.

Super Dave

My memory was refreshed by that IMDB page, Bob Einstein (Super Dave) played Officer Judy, a CHP motorcycle cop on Smothers Brothers.

Geez, I can barely remember the Smothers Brothers show. Are those on DVD? I ask because ... you know ... I can't be arsed to look it up myself.

Sharon, honey, that's what smoking pot does to your brain. I bet you don't remember the Flip Wilson Show either.

Super Dave used to be a guest on Letterman a lot. His schtick there was acting totally straight, and giving the audience resentful looks when they laughed at him.

My first (and best) manager at Domino's called me "Super Dave".
