Re: Only in Oklahoma...
I'll believe that bumpersticker is from Oklahoma because it's in this thread, but there are so many other states it could be.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
So you guys remember how Oklahoma was going to charge extra fees for home solar because the Kochs wanted them to? Well ha ha ha not everybody likes that and that Fallin lady had to tell the Koch boys to go fuck themselves.
Koch Brother’s New Foe – Tea Party Conservatives | Climate Denial Crock of the Week
Quote:
It turns out all the hard work of the anti-solar forces was immediately blunted by an executive order issued by Gov. Mary Fallin. The order directs the state energy commission to impose solar fees only as a last resort and to continue making expansion of solar power a priority.
The question is how a Republican governor in a deep red state can go against the Kochs, the most notable financial contributors to right wing causes in the country. The answer is that among the thousands of people who are installing solar panels on their roofs (at an estimated rate of one new system every four minutes) are a whole bunch of independent-minded folks with strong libertarian impulses. They may or may not belong to the tea party, but they want to be able to fend for themselves without big government or big business telling them what they can and can’t do.

Yes, it is.

"Breakfast without orange juice is like a day without a $30,000 statue in my front yard."--something Anita Bryant might have said.
Thieves with a forklift stole a statue of a horse and rider from in front of the home of Anita Bryant and her husband Charlie Dry. [link]
The missing statue:
It was probably those damned gay homosexuals she hates so much.
I look forward to the blog of the statue's travels around the globe.

I was about to ask whether she ever at least partially recanted. I thought I half-remembered an interview where she did. But apparently, no, she's still a horrible human being. She's just less public about it now.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
Wagoner, Oklahoma teacher arrested for being drunk at school. She was found in classroom pants down, disoriented.
In her defense, no children were present, school has not started yet.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
I can understand how a classroom full of kids could drive a teacher to drink, but if the mere anticipation of the beginning of new school year has that same effect it is probably time to find a different line of work.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
Tulsa and Oklahoma City not only made the Top Ten Most Dangerous Cities in the U.S., but took the #1 and #2 spots respectively. Tulsa made it because of the high number of traffic fatalities. We're no slouch when it comes to murders either.
I've lived in three of the top ten most dangerous cities in America, Tulsa, West Valley City, Utah, and Memphis, Tennessee.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
Detroit doesn't even crack the top ten on that list. That's a shocker. I am going to take it as proof of what I have always said. Detroiters truly know how to drive.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
That's just crazy. Detroit had 333 homicides last year, Tulsa had 66. Tulsa had 47 people die in traffic accidents, Detroit 164. And Detroit is not quite twice the population of Tulsa. Must have been the sex offenders that put Tulsa on the map.
Edit: And Kansas City, Kansas but not Kansas City, Missouri? And what about the worst hellhole on the U.S. map, East St. Louis?

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
Sex offenders, healthcare enrollment and cops per capita look to be the big issues. Detroit is still ranked #1 in violent crime per capita on that list.

They leak national security secrets, openly criticize the war effort in Iraq and oppose the president on every issue. These liberal Democrats have been successful in dividing our country and intend to destroy a presidency and win control of political power.
What they are too blind to see is that their actions are closely being watched by our enemies. North Korea, Iran, China, Russia and other terrorist organizations see the president in a weakened position and are taking total advantage of it. Instead of seeing a nation united on national security, they see a divided nation, which in turn emboldens them to challenge our country and the world. Iran and North Korea develop nuclear weapons and liberals blame Bush.
Internal political debate is fine. Debating policies, philosophy and positions are fine. What is not right is jeopardizing the security of our country in order to win political power. Liberal Democrats, as a minority party, have not demonstrated constructive leadership. What makes them think
they can rule as a majority party is beyond me.
