Live people outnumber all dead people
According to Scientific American...
The human population has swelled so much that people alive today outnumber all those who have ever lived.
Carl Haub, a demographer at the Population Reference Bureau, Washington, D.C., calculated the human population growth rates during different historical periods to determine the number of dead people.
With 7 billion present population to work with it does sound plausible.

Yes, and the math has been done many times, this is old news. iirc it happened before the live population reached 2 billion.

If this is reasonably close to the line, the question of how they count infant mortality becomes highly significant.

Um, no.
As Scientific American points out, the number of people who have lived is something like 100 billion -- more than an order of magnitude larger than the number of people currently living.

Hey, though, according to Seymour Lessans, the number of people who have ever lived is trillions and trillions, and as we all know, Seymour was never wrong!

If there's gonna be a zombie apocalypse I wanna live in a country where they cremate the dead. My weapon of choice will be a vacuum cleaner.

Lone Ranger, why did you believe what one person wrote as opposed to goggling the facts which are available for you to look at for yourself?

Yea, but each one that they kill turns to play for the other team, this would be exponential also..

Good Job Jerome, the world population is higher now than it has ever been, but that wasn't the disputed claim,

Re: Live people outnumber all dead people
The problem with these graphs is that they start at AD 1000.
What TLR and other educated people know is that fossil evidence indicates that modern humans have been around anywhere from 160 to 200 times longer than that.
No wait, they was creationated AFTER that, until 4004 BC!

Is this some sort of joke, or are you an idiot?
Do you truly not grasp the difference between the number of people who have lived in the nearly half-a-million year history of our species (which has been estimated at over 100 billion by independent researchers for several decades now) and the number of people who are alive now?
It's worth keeping in mind that the evidence rather strongly suggests that the considerable majority of people who were born did not survive until their 5th birthday. Regardless, the number of people alive today is less than 1/10th the total number of people who have lived in our species' entire history.

You can't count Neanderthal thru Australopithecus. Those dumb fucks couldn't make a society of exponential growth as we have.
