So I got my better lens back from my sister, but it's still a bit small for the solar filter, so I'll have to see if it works with the open hood. I'm doubtful, because the solar filter is reflective, and I'll get a ton of ambient light noise.

I still have 3 weeks to practice, and a new hood is cheap. I'm also debating renting a telephoto lens.

Jeroll, how have they managed to fake all the distances on maps? Do satellites exist? Is the Moon flat too?

I have never seen faeries but I can't claim that they don't exist, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Just because you can't see them does not prove that they don't exist.

I don't have access to a large collider or a large telescope so I rely on the reports of those who do have access to this equipment. I also do not indulge in wild speculation about the universe but I also can't claim that it is not true. If you have some hard evidence, present it, wild speculation doesn't hold much weight.

Guy, your belief is that 97% of the universe is unobservable and untestable. You do believe in wild fantasy.

The maths don't work with the model, that is why they inserted the 97% fantasy.

Its the opposite of science, its literally fantasy.

Observed evidence: 1, 2

Hypothesis Model: 100

Equation created to fit the model: 1+2=100

This is indeed an amazing omen and a frightful sign.
Because, 10 is...10.
I count 13 states, though (oregon, idaho, montana, wyoming, nebraska, kansas, missouri, illinois, kentucky, tennessee, north carolina, south carolina, georgia).

Good thing there's nothing unlucky about the number 13. :phew:

Also we ordered some glasses for viewing. We're going to get about 75% coverage here.

The only time it will be casting a shadow on the earth is when it's between the earth and the sun, and given its size and distance from the earth, that is only a fraction of its orbit. Which is to say, something like if you projected the edges of the lighted portion of the earth towards the sun in a roughly cylindrical shape, the moon only needs to travel from the edge of that cylinder to the other edge. Once it is outside that cylinder, it is no longer between the earth and the sun.
I had to draw myself a little picture, but this does make perfect sense. The fraction of the moon's orbit that takes its shadow across the earth is very small. :thankee:

We're heading a couple States over, to south-eastern Nebraska, just because it's an excuse to travel, and going up into Idaho is too predictable... Got some viewing stuff ordered, very much looking forward to it. :eager:

I don't remember ever stating that 97% of the universe is unobservable and untestable, but if you are referring to dark matter and energy there is some evidence that supports the theory, unlike the statements that you are making that are totally without any supporting evidence.

There is no evidence out side the maths used to create the spinning globe model requires it.

Dark faeries that can not be observed or measured are real because my model of the faeries pushing up the grass require them to exist.

Unscientific circular poppycock.

The 1 and 2 exist and can be observed. Your model requires the sum to be 100. Thus you insert a fantasy 97 into the equation.

Today's scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality.

None of this explains the shadow moving from west to east.

Look up the distances between four major cities, let's say New York, London, Cape Town and Santiago de Chile in a table (as the crow flies). Then take those numbers and try to draw the cities and the lines connecting them on a flat piece of paper. Connect all of them.

What are you on about, flight and naval navigation are done on flat maps, not globes.

Maybe I haven't made it clear enough, I'm saying you draw the lines to scale. 5572 kilometers become 5.572 centimeters, or whatever units you want to use. Should be no problem, right?

NASA has your diagram right here, Jerome.
