Losing sleep in the arcade
I spent something like 7 consecutive hours in the arcade on wednesday night trying to get the high score for Flamingo Drive. I don't know if the game is more addictive than crack or if I'm maybe obsessive compulsive.
What I do know is I got no sleep and I had to work on Thursday. In the wee hours of the morning I was cursing that child of Satan (or child of a Kiwi, at least, which is almost as bad), Zoe, for setting such an impossible target. Coming within a giraffes length of the high score at three in the morning, only to bounce the penguin off its neck is astonishingly frustrating.
At least I was able to top her score (by the tiniest fraction). Stephen Maturin has achieved the impossible in Minigolf. With 7 holes in one I couldn't beat him. Christ, he must be some kind of idiot savant. Bastard.

Yeah, Maturin really is a bastard and that Zoe is just up to no good at all. May I suggest copious drug-taking?

I'll get my high score back, you watch.
And my high score (under my mum's name) in Bowling can't be beaten. hahahaha.
This message has been brought to you by the power of dictation, and inherited arcade arrogance that has been passed down to me through the generations.

Good strategy staying away from Pingu Slap, little Zoe. Better to stay in the arena with the likes of Farren than challenge my pingu supremacy.

Ha! I am quite prepared to spend 48 hours without sleep eking out the few extra metres needed to keep you in your place, you Kiwi upstart. En Guard!

Re: Losing sleep in the arcade
Gah! Yes, today I received notification that my Alchemy score had finally been bested. To be honest, I'm not sure quite how I did it, as I really haven't come close since.
Oh well, at least I'm still the Balloon Hunter!

Re: Losing sleep in the arcade
I do believe I am presently the champion of champions, with no less than 8 high scores, hehe. Pingu Slap surprised me, I'll admit. I beat vm's high score while on the phone to a friend, half paying attention, then couldn't get even close when I was concentrating.

Shake: You'll never see that Alchemy championship again, my friend. I scored over 200K once, but failed to post it because I'd gone offline.
Farren: I have nine.
And I will regain my Minigolf championship. Maturin can't hide from me forever.

And I don't think anyone will ever take minigolf back from Maturin. Not unless they're willing to get a personal trainer and practice like Tiger Woods.

See now that's the kind of talk that gets people into trouble. Haven't you ever heard the phrase "Careless talk costs Tetris titles"?
Come to think of it, have you heard the phrase "If the other guy comes to a fight with 200kg of lard, make sure you've got a club and a helmet"?

I don't own a tight Boer behind. I could try borrow one but Boers are notoriously sensitive about other people putting things in their bottoms. Besides aphorisms are always accompanied by antisms and you don't want those streaming out of your bum (unless you're a king and they're coming to the royal ball).

#11 is Bikini Bounce. Not fair, some may say. I couldn't resist; it was on the first page.
I am the uberchampion!

Now don't get all excited and steamed up, grasshopper. Having successfully maxed Rapid Motion, I, too, have 11.
I'll get cracking on #12 when I'm sober again. I've been employing my drunken master style, but I'm beginning to get a headache.
First Bikini Bounce, then Tetris, then the world!
(Muhahahahahaaaaaa).

I just found the cheat for that game, but it's too boring to do to boost one's score. So, it's not as much fun. Also, like I said there, I'm not quite sure how I did it, since I haven't come close again since.
Anyway, I believe I've just about knocked everyone out of the Balloon Hunter top 10 now. And in case I knock one of my own scores out let me post the comment on my 666 score game: "I threw away the last arrow just to keep this score!"

Re: Losing sleep in the arcade
No cheating, Shake! You're right, it's not fun at all. At v3arcade it's downright aggravating; they have some kind of bug that lets hackers who know how to arbitrarily enter whatever score they want on whatever game. It's More Than A Bit Annoying.
And Farren, I may not know how you got that Rapid Motion score, but you best enjoy your title of "Champion of Champions" while it lasts. You'll be grumpy when I take Karts, you'll be surly when I take Blackjack, and you'll be gnashing your teeth when I finally overtake you in Bloody Pingu, because it'll take you an infinite regress of hours to even come close again.
And stop taking everyone else's championships, it's rude.

Unless I misinterpreted him when he announced having taken the BJ championship (hehe) he admitted to having cheated.

Re: Losing sleep in the arcade
I'm glad you lot noticed that I am, in fact, champion of champions (with no less than 15 titles at time of writing) because I didn't want to blow my own horn (figuratively, that is - if I could literally blow my own horn I'd be most pleased).
Blake: 15 titles means you'll need more than Karts, Rapid Motion and Bloody Pingu to take my title, considering I took one of yours. Its doubtful, in any event, you'll take Bloody Pingu without a great amount of wailing and gnashing of teeth.
vm: I didn't mean I cheated to win blackjack, unless using a method that slightly tips the odds in my favour on average counts as cheating. Cheating, in my book, is playing that infernal, buggy "old-skool" frogger which bugs out at level 5 and getting the max score by jumping back and forth a lot more than necessary before going home (which I suspect Blake did) - or winning the equally buggy Bikini Bounce by capitalising on the cumulative score bug.
Nonetheless, until someone can exceed my 15 titles, either by stealing some of them or by getting more than 15, all your protestations are to me like the foul wind that passes from my pug's bottom late at night when he's sitting practically on my head and I'm trying to sleep.
p.s. Theres a method to the monotonous madness of Karts as well, if you have the patience
