THERE ARE INACCURACIES IN SCRIPTURE

Preposterous. The Scriptures are inerrant, being guaranteed by the Holy Goatse and all. Must be a translation error.

Speaking of errancies in the scripture, I think IIDB begat RnR, not GH.

Ask not where the flask fits.
Ask what fits into the flask.

As I recall the FPFs in IIDB were to be closed and that spawned the original FF. You two left to form this place, taking the FF name, and the other board changed first to Godless Heathens, then became the Heathen Hangout. But I'd hesitate to say there was any begating in there. Other than perhaps this place coming out of what's now the HH.
And now, I may be wrong about this part, but the way I saw it was that RnR came out of this place, and brought in some people from the IIDB fallout.

Yeah, you're wrong about it. Matt started RnR when he was still an II admin. He wanted a place with less oppressive moderation where some of the people who had been banned at II could post (among others, of course). That was in May of 2007, almost 3 years after opened.
The ELGS debacle was in October 2007 and tons of people fled II for RnR. TR was started in March of 2008 in reaction to some clashes at Heathen Hub and some dramz in the RnR evolution forum.
We had nothing to do with any of it, despite having been harangued for a couple of years before that about having "too many II threads".

Re: So what's the deal with all the freethinker forums?
Dear lawd, it all seems so far away now. If you put a gun to my head I'd be unable to trace in any meaningful way exactly how all the chronology worked out, so I guess it's good that other people have better memories (actually I have a really good memory but it's selective )
More importantly (to me at least, which is all that really matters to me, at least ) this thread reminds me of how long I've known some of you. And that makes me feel old. But kind of in a good way. Through all the toil and trouble, drama and dysfunctions, there have been constants and valued friendships built.

Somewhere in the hierarchy chart is a tiny dot along with gazillion other tiny dots.
That would be me. I don't care where I am just so long as I'm there already.

OK, I wasn't really sure exactly how RnR started. So thanks for the clarification. I was also thinking that there were/are a fair number of II refugees/exiles here and they went there too.

This post is just to note I read this thread.
Very enlightening.
