Wow. Really? It's pretty scary if a guy who says things like this Scott Walker: Forced Ultrasounds Are 'Just a Cool Thing Out There' has a chance to get elected.
It might be that if he is the nominee, he would crash and burn.

But based on the media coverage and his electoral history in Wisconsin (and Wisconsin doesn't seem especially crazier than the US as a whole), yeah his election seems plausible.

I would hope that Hillary would be able to beat him though. But if the economy goes down again or hiccups at an inopportune time, all bets are off.

After a few years of grad school at UW Madison, my best friend came to the conclusion that everyone from Wisconsin is crazy. I have yet to see proof that she's wrong.

One of my favorite relatives on earth is old-money from Madison and she is fucking crazy as balls. Hates Walker, though. She's crazy, not stupid.

Chrome extension improves political news by replacing "Jeb Bush" and "Marco Rubio" with "Florida Man". (It also does the reverse, replacing occurrences of "Florida Man" with one or the other's names).

It's official, Perry is running.

It'll be interesting to see how he spins the fact that he's been indicted on felony charges of abusing his official capacity and of coercing a public servant.

In other news, Jeb "Not His Real Name" Bush officially announced that he will make and official announcement of something Monday, June 15th.

In regard to Perry, the GOP clown car entertainment keeps getting better and better.

De Volkskrant, a major newspaper here, had an article asking whether Jeb Bush would be able to beat Hillary and continue that 'dynasty'.

I don't know if they really think Jeb has a chance in the Republican primaries or if they just didn't bother to learn the names of the rest of the clown squad.

Well, if it goes as 'usual' (and that's not likely, thanks to the money thing), there will be some interesting jostling in the early contentions, and then a bellwether state, or set of states, will make it clear which of the full clown car will continue in the later contests. Of course, a few will continue on in spite of the obvious, but then, there is a surfeit of clueless dumbshits aboard the clown car this cycle.

The Koch brothers have evidently stated that they would prefer Scott Walker be selected. I'm wondering if that makes him the official 'Current Koch Sucker'? They evidently also stated that they'd support any puppet selected, as long as they followed commands well.

I think the persistent question from the media/public as the races form up should be, "Who's your sugardaddy?"

There will be HUUUUUGE laughs.

But...there will be a sort. Of sorts.

Hamlin, Iowa - Just one voter in the town of 300 showed up to see a frothy mixture of semen and fecal matter known as a santorum at a campaign event at a restaurant. Even he would not endorse him for President. Santorum said the low turnout was all part of the plan.

Is the plan just to gather campaign donations from corporate and religious organizations then drop out after the first primary election?

The 30 or so residents of Hamlin will be surprized to learn that there are 300 of them! They must have gotten that figure from a census count of all the addresses in that zip code, must of whom are rural residents who do not live in the unicorporated community of Hamlin. Hamlin is a little crossroads village two blocks by two blocks square.

The local restaurant (the only retail business in town) is well known in that part of the state for its breaded tenderloin sandwich.

Hamlin Township, Iowa had 252 residents, according to the 2010 Census data. Rounded off to the nearest hundred, 300 is pretty close.

Note to self, make pilgrimage to Hamlin, for the tenderloin at Darrell's Place. Darrell's surname is appropriately, Munch.

A township is just a political/geographical division of a county. The community of Hamlin (although it is unincorporated is platted and has clearly defined boundaries) takes up only a very small part of Hamlin Township. If the article had referenced the township, it would have been pretty accurate. However, it referenced the community of Hamlin and that is a very different thing and represents only a small portion of the population of the township. Just goes to show that someone simply looked up the census information and failed to distinguish between the township and the community. Hamlin is in Audubon County. The county seat is the town of Audubon. Reporting on an event in the town of Audubon and citing the census figures for Audubon County would obviously be incorrect and misleading. Writing about the unincorporated community of Hamlin and citing the census figures for Hamlin Township is incorrect and misleading in the same way. It is just plain old sloppy reporting and misrepresents the facts on the ground (so to speak). Nothing new about that. But it is funny as hell to someone who has actually been in Hamlin. It does serve as a cautionary reminder not to believe everything you read in the paper or see/hear reported in the news. Not that such a reminder is really needed.

I did not know deep fried pork tenderloin was a thing. Except on rice in Japanese restaurants. I am intrigued, but I'm not sure I'd order it.

I saw some thing about those pork tenderloin sandwiches on Food Network once, and at the place they featured, it was totally unseasoned. Just pork and breading and that's it. Not even salt.

That's disgusting. It's like just biting a pig. Who does that?

Anyway, I don't know what this article is about, because it's so :tldr:, but I thought it's a really good opening paragraph though.

Well, those tenderloins are a mid-western thing (maybe even just an Iowa thing) and for the vast majority of mid-westerners (that is to say those of northern european ancestry) the only truly acceptable form of seasoning is sugar. Every thing else is suspect.
