I think he was outgunned... a Walther P22 is a small .22 caliber handgun, not the best choice for self defense.
I was wonder how long this open-carry non-sense would go on before people started getting their guns stolen.
I'll bet that losing the gun cost him a lot more (those are ~$380-450 new) than just getting robbed of his wallet.

Probably a larger caliber, most law enforcement use 9mm. A .22 can be plenty deadly at close range if you hit a vital organ, but it has very little penetration.
Walthers are really nice, probably the most famous Walther is the PPK which was used by James Bond in several movies.

Based on her voting history. She's voted against almost everything gun related that's come up for a vote recently in MO and has pushed to get gun owners (not ccw permit holders but gun owners) to have to register that they own guns with the local schools.
Then she shows up at a protest for a person shot by the police with a handgun after having a couple of drinks. Moron, probably. Hypocrite, yeah. Why didn't she think of the safety of all the children that might have been there protesting?

Every time I see a "went off while cleaning gun" story I have to shake my head at the stupidity. Do these people wash their cars with the engine on and in gear? Do they jump in the shower but forget to take off their clothes? Can they remember to pull down their pants before they take a crap?
Checking the chamber is STEP ONE anytime you're handling a gun that you're not intending to shoot. The first rule of gun safety is to treat every gun as if it is loaded until you know for a FACT that it is empty. That's not just taking out the magazine or even racking the action to clear the chamber. You have to actually look at the chamber to make sure it is clear.
And finally, it's not even possible to properly clean any gun while it is loaded.

I've often wondered if "I was cleaning my gun" is just the nice way of saying "I was waving it around playing secret agent man."
Although I can see how it happens, missing the 'check chamber' step is a big one but only one step to miss and more than a few guns seem to need you to rack the slide and then pull the trigger before dismantle. Given the number of people I've seen slide their thumb down a blade to "check if it's sharp" it's pretty clear self preservation is one of those 'only needs to be at 51%' type of evolutionary traits.

WA SWAT Team Win Shootout - With 911 Caller - The Truth About Guns
Police got into a shoot out with a 911 caller thinking he was the armed man they were looking for (and by shootout I mean they saw him exit his vehicle and go to the back, fearing he would 'get away' they opened fire), the 911 caller, thinking the armed man in the area was shooting at him, returned fire.
Clearly this situation needed more armed civilians and heavier militarized police ready to shoot at a moments notice.
