Palin can pack wax. It gets really tiresome being lectured about fiscal responsibility by the ex Gov of what is arguably the most socialistic state in the union. Oh how the Tea Party hates the dreaded subsidy and the redistribution, until it's headed their way. Then they're all snout! Dig in boys, before them Liberal Elites spend it on poor shiftless lazy gay muslim welfare queen illegal immigrant unbeliever union member abortionists!

The annoying part about her non-issue, non-running for me, is that NPR quoted her in length, talkin' 'bout her new career pointing out the "wrong-headedness" in government. That sentence seemed to last an eternity.

Obama's nomination is practically guaranteed in 2012 unless he pulls an LBJ. His re-election is not. Palin apparently doesn't understand the difference between primary elections and general elections.

How about that time when Obama said he had visited 57 States?

A real knee slapper that one.

The real lulz will come when she attempts to explain how her use of the word "nomination" was totally valid, rather than just saying it was a simple error, the way normal humans would handle it.

Actually, that was clearly a fumble when trying to say "forty-seven", something I do all the time. If you ask me between 12 and 1 or 2 and 3 what time it is, you have a 50-50 chance of getting the right hour in response.

There is a clear distinction between such verbal slips and "warning the British", "pls refudiate" ("Shakespeare liked to coin new words too!"), and "How many newspapers do you read?" - "All of them".

But I can understand the temptation to draw false equivalencies when you're trying to so hard to defend Republican anti-intellectualism (despite pretending to be an alleged 'independent').

I am not defending her and I wouldn't vote for her. I just find it amusing to watch the attacks by partisans for one side whilst excusing their own hero.

Remember when Obama said he was a Muslim during the campaign?

Nobody here as far as I know considers Obama a hero.

The attacks on him by drooling idiots though are in a totally different league than the failure of Sarah 'grifter' Palin to answer even the softest of softball questions. The playing field is not level and you pretending it is makes you look almost as dumb as Palin.

As for Obama, my problem with him is not that he is dumb. It is that he is a spineless mop who either has no principles or is too lame to defend them. If reporters were to attack him on that I'd applaud it.

So exactly how can Obama be my "hero" if I a) never contributed to his campaign, b) never canvassed for his election, c) never even voted for him (I voted for Cynthia McKinney on the Green Party ticket), and d) plan to do a)-c) again in 2012? Is there some kind of hero worship where the object of it is regarded with utter contempt?

Your video clip has already been ably dealt with by D. Scarlatti, who with all his Esquiring learned how to both write and parse English sentences, unlike you.

No, but I do remember the time when they treated her as they probably wouldn't have treated an elderly white Congressman in the same situation.

Now, are you going to answer my question about how Obama can be my hero if in 2008 I a) didn't contribute to his election, b) didn't canvass for him, c) didn't vote for him, and d) plan to do a-c again in 2012? As I hold Obama in utter contempt, how is this hero worship?

I wonder if this means Palin will still show up at every GOP presidential rally just to steal the lime light.

For Gnomey contempt and worship are the same things.

Two days later, Officer McKenna filed a police report claiming that McKinney had struck "his chest with a closed fist." Members of Congress are not required to pass through metal detectors, but they are asked to wear identifying lapel pins.
