Oh, I'm all for her running. That's what will keep her the furthest away from the office. And I concur in that 'Ick.' Not because I don't think people should find it crudely funny but because it enhances the patina of martyrdom that Palin depends upon.
Here's a very good piece on Palin's "feminism" by Jessica Valenti in the Grauniad, by the way.

It’s just too bad for conservatives that she happens to be unsustainably divisive and, as Newsweek points out, a really good bet to permanently marginalize the Republican party by reducing it to a pissed-off, semi-coherent mob that repulses independent voters on a visceral level. Matt Taibbi

Re: Caribou Barbie is at it again
'I read all the papers, I told that perky one, except for the American Slavic and East European Review.'
As an added bonus, Palin describes William Seward as just the sort of “colorful” character — like Soapy Smith and Skookum Jim Mason — that the Alaskan territory attracted. I don’t think anyone has ever described Seward as “colorful,” but I’m going to assume that Palin is actually thinking of William Seward Burroughs, whose fondness for guns and drugs would indeed have suited him well for an authentic Alaskan life. Palin's Folly.

'Needless to say, Continetti is public-spirited enough to offer his own flesh to Palin's bone.'
Or vice versa.

I say, Mr. Max, it's generally not considered good form to win the thread with the very first comment.
Funny piece about Palin's "biographer."

If you must read the Palin's book, I feel the need to mention the drinking game. Or read this blogger's review instead.

Sadly, I can’t do the drinking game, as I discovered that if I do, I would need a liver transplant.

That's what I was thinking when I saw the list. Play it safe, folks. Read with some friends and take turns.

No worries. After having seen some examples of "her" prose, I know I would be emptying my stomach every page anyway.

He could be describing the poverty of much of the debate here at . I think that is a problem and we could do something about it. But it needs people to accept that the reflex of pointing the finger at the other guy and screaming "it's you - you're the asshole", no matter how popular it may make you with your own side, is part of the problem and not part of the solution.
