Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Okay, in Nuclear Throne I finally made it to the nuclear throne twice now, and I actually looped once with Yung Venusian. What helped a lot was a seeker shotgun drop, which is in itself is an awesome weapon, but when paired with the mutations rabbit paw, bolt marrow, and trigger finger, clears levels very well!

I stopped pre-ordering games after being burned too many times.

Yeah, there hasn't been a good Space Sim in forever. If No Man's Sky turns out to be half as good as it looks, I'll be happy.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I have been playing Summoners War on my phone for a while. In retrospect I didn't really know what I was doing until reading a lot on the Summoners War sub-Reddit. Since then I have seriously improved my game. Then Inara wanted to play, so I got her a cheapo Android tablet and we installed it on there. It is part-her-game/part-second-account for me. Some of the "boring" two star monsters that I used as food early on in my first account are, as it turns out, quite powerful if leveled up properly, as well as vital to clearing out the top levels of giant and dragon dungeons. Her account is doing WAY better than mine was at the same time; she should have her first six-star farming mon in the next month and she has only been playing since then end of June. It can definitely get grindy, but there are enough elements to the game with a variety of pve & pvp and the acquisition of elemental, dark and light monsters that I don't get too bored; there is always something I can be doing. And over the last 6-8 months Com2US has loosened its iron grip over the red crystals so it is easier to buy decent scrolls and summon 4-5 star mons.
I am also still playing Clash of Clans. I have found a good working formula of wall-break spells, giants, wizards, healers and goblins with archer queen and barbarian king. Almost quit playing that for a while, but recently joined a clan trying to get its shit together and it has re-energized my game. Had my war team maxed out and then they added a new level for giants last month; it is going to take me about another 16 days or so before I will have the new level of giants lumbering out of the barracks.

Lol my birthday present to myself was a pack of green gems for my Clash of Clans account and an Earthless T-shirt from Amazon.

That game has received a lot of flack. I have a feeling it'll bomb badly commercially.

It didn't live up to the hype but I am still enjoying it. I like exploring planets.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
It always looked like an ambitious project, even if it were done by a large studio. But it wasn't, so I didn't think it would be everything everyone thought it was going to be. Even still, it looks interesting enough to try out.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I see folks on Reddit going on and on about Star Citizen 3, how it'll be much more like how No Man's Sky was apparently marketed as, but I don't want to get onboard that hype train. That is the way to disappointment.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I'm apparently the only person in the universe who has found No Man's Sky to be almost exactly what was promised and I've been enjoying it a lot. Granted I wasn't following it closely, but it's very much like what I envisioned when I first heard about it a year or two ago. The only downside is that it completely killed Pokemon Go for me so I'm back to vegging in front of the TV instead of walking around the neighborhood.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Man, all the good Pokemon in my area are in gated communities that I can't access legally. I've given up on it a bit because all that seems to spawn here are Weedles.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I'm basically marking time until the next Destiny DLC, so I've checked out a few Twitch streamers playing No Man's Sky. Looks pretty cool to me, but I hadn't read any of the pre-release hype. A lot of people seem to find it disappointing. These days I measure disappointment on a scale from zero to Halo 5 single-player campaign, but due to ignorance I didn't have expectations for No Man's Sky.
Has anyone tried out the new Deux Ex game? I had a blast with Deux Ex: Human Revolution back in 2011.
