Re: Unrelated to D.C. Madam Case
Is he likely to be punished much?
I'm doubting that most people would find that to be that horrible of a thing. Then again, it was a man, so that would make people think it was a lot worse. If it was a female giving a man a blowjob, however, I'm guessing a lot of people wouldn't think it warranted much if any punishment. But the whole "Oh noes, teh gay!" aspect would change that I guess.

“I will essentially be the mouthpiece . . . for the tens of thousands of Young Republicans, 18 to 40, across the country,” said Murphy [upon being elected "head of the Young Republican National Federation."].

Mouthpiece ... there's a custom user title for someone. Not necessarily someone we'd want on FF though.

From War Room:
During booking, Craig denied any wrongdoing, saying "that he has a wide stance when going to the bathroom," according to the police report. Good one, buddeh.

Well, to be fair to the guy, even though he probably doesn't deserve it, I don't see anything overtly lewd in what I've read. It's all vague mens room semiotics.
On the other hand:
Quote:
The Roll Call report of the incident also suggests that Craig may have improperly invoked his position as a U.S. senator during the booking process. According to the police report, Craig handed his Senate business card to a police officer and said, "What do you think about that?"
|
I think that is sufficient proof of guilt is what I think about that.

Ya, it was just footsies basically, but the wide stance excuse is ludicrous. Nobody has a stance so wide their feet slide under the stall walls.

Re: Unrelated to D.C. Madam Case
I haven't read the article yet, but if we're talking about urinals I've been in front of urinals (like at my last job) where my foot went under the wall. I would always narrow my stance when someone approached either of the adjacent stalls, though.
ETA: Nope, he was talking about toilet stalls. Yep, he's a pervert.

The anti-homosexual alliance has an article praising Craig right above an article about the scourge of the anonymous gay sex in AIRPORT RESTROOMS.

Wow. Assuming an average life expectancy of 74 for American males, and sexual activity starting at 16, that's a different sex partner every three weeks or so for one's entire adult life.

That's a lot of trips to the restroom, not including the ones where you're just going to take a (wide stance) crap.

Re: Unrelated to D.C. Madam Case
I really gotta step up my game if I'm ever gonna reach 1,000 sex partners.
I figure I gotta probably increase the amount of sex and partner switching I have by an order of magnitude or more. At the rate I'm going, I'll be lucky if I reach 100 by age 80. And as I understand it, I'll only slow down as I get older, so I'm probably gonna have to get the majority of that over with within the next 20 years.
*ETA: btw, any of you in North Carolina and want to have NSA sex? Preferably in a bathroom.

In order to have just barely more than than 1,000 sex partners (1,001 is the number I calculated with) and still have it average out to seven sex partners in a lifetime, you'd have to have 994 lifetime-monogamous homosexuals for every six with 1,001 sex partners in a lifetime. In other words, their claim that many homosexuals have over 1,000 sex partners in a lifetime is only mathematically feasible if "many" means 0.6% or less of the homosexual population.
Now, is it likely that if you're a homosexual, you're either strictly monogamous your entire life or you have 1,001 sex partners exactly? If not, then this decreases the number of over-thousands in the homosexual population even more than 0.6%.
Do you think they'll bother responding to that if I e-mail them?

Re: Unrelated to D.C. Madam Case
The claimed average of 7 partners over a lifetime is for heterosexuals, Null.

Re: Unrelated to D.C. Madam Case
This guy is a US Senator? After he is arrested for playing footsies or lewd behavior with an undercover cop in a public toilet stall he pleads guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct without consulting a lawyer. He then pays a $500 fine and gets out of the 10 day jail sentence. He tells no one and it takes almost 3 months for the story to break. At least it was not a minor in the adjacent stall. It appears the Republicans are his most vocal critics at the moment, but that could change. Personally, I could care less. Next time Senator Craig, do your footsies in a bar and then get a room!
