But it doesn't show up for me in the forum thread list (Firefox 18 on WinXP) as recently updated. It is currently listed as the most recent post in the main index.

Maybe the AJAX quick reply (which I used) and the old thread warning having a tiff with each other?

I think your analysis is sound. I posted using the QR and it didn't update, but then when I deleted the post the old thread warning disappeared. I shall alert the authorities.

Huh. I bet this was the thrad that was showing up in my "Unread" view in Tapatalk on Saturday, but gave me an error every time I tried to view it.

Was it showing up as a blank thread with 0 posts and no OP name? I noticed that too - it was like an empty placeholder thread or something.
