The hurricane forecast has varied from going north to right over to going south of where I am.
Currently expecting large amounts of rain and high winds, but low tropical-storm-force winds, not hurricane-force winds. Depending on which model is right, we might just get heavy rain.

Ain't got no power, but the rain doesn't seem threatening as of yet and the trees by us are holding up. Not near any rivers. I'm not optimistic that power will return tomorrow given it's not supposed to start letting up until Sunday.

While not as dramatic as a hurricane, a localized thunderstorm dumping up to 25mm of rain an hour that sits on your town all afternoon results in:
Major storm brings hail, flash floods to parts of Metro Vancouver - NEWS 1130
Coming home from a couple towns over I was nearing the bridge and saw a thunderhead and a veil of rain obscuring everything, with perfectly clear to see mountains on either side, we decided to eat out.
After dinner we headed home to see the cloud had moved a few miles to the north but left behind 3-5cm of hail that had melted into what looked like a wet snow pack.
House is okay.

Regained power maybe slightly earlier than I expected. But there's still supposed to be a bit more rain (it's raining somewhat hard now), so who knows, it might go out again.
Probably fine now though. The people closer to the coast are not out of trouble though, as I believe the flooding might get even worse there.

This weekend, I temporarily switched from the warm weather hat (stupid bucket hat) to the cold weather hat (the stoker top hat). It's still technically too warm (the switch over point is around 50F/10C), but it was raining and cloudy, which makes wearing the stoker work.

It will not stop raining here. Overcast layers of gray, with slow, light, drizzle for days on end. Lows 38-45 F and highs around 55 F (for 10 minutes or so a day). We'll end up with anywhere between 2 and 4 inches over the weeklong rainfest then come out of it with sunny skies and temps 20F below normal.
Blech weather, who's only redeeming value is not being freezing rain.
