Word.

I wonder if the problem is that DC and Warner Bros. aren't really the same company in the way that Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios are. It's not like Warner Bros. can't make good movies, but they just seem to mess up at crucial points with the DC movies.

There's more to the DC canon than Superman and Batman.

No one likes "Wonder Woman".

Unsurprisingly, NBC has passed on the David Kelley "Wonder Woman" pilot. Given the reaction to the horrible leaked script, this outcome was inevitable. While I'm glad that this show won't see the light of day, I hate that this sets the character back in terms of being seen as a viable property.

Also 23/30.

I do take pride in the fact that for the Batman quotes I got right, I knew which comics or movie they were in, for the most part.

If DC's Crisis on Infinite Reboots involved something like THIS, I'd be sure to check it out. (As it is, it doesn't and I'm not as interested.)

Welp. DC is reseting every single one of it's 52 titles back to issue number one all at once. :brooding: I used to wonder why ex-readers were so cynical about this sort of thing, now I know. Suddenly everyone's origin story is going to be redone. Even Action Comics and Detective Comics, which have been running from the start and are over 900 issues are all of a sudden on their first issue. Forget that Dick Grayson is Batman, I guess it never happened, Nightwing is back. Really it's fucked up that they would betray their current readership just to make things marketable to a new audience, but I suppose this isn't a new thing. :sigh:

Thing is the renumbering bothers me more than the continuity reboot. Continuity reboots happen all the time, hell I started reading DC post-Crisis, so it's old hat for me. Continuity is temporary, but issue numbers are forever, man.

Action Comics and Detective Comics should have been allowed to hit Issue #1000. Hell, they should never be renumbered. Even if they go back to the original numbering after this, it won't be the same, the milestone will still have an asterisk on it.

Yeah I'm hoping they will return to the numbering eventually, but the continuity is mostly what I'm @#%#$ed about. I'm really enjoying the story progression now and suddenly there will be no pay off for following along this past year.

On the bright side Red Robin's new costume is a gimmick I can get behind.

That cover's making me have 90s flashback. Ugh.

The reboot thing is a good reminder for me never to get back in comics full time.

Being unfamiliar with the Green Lantern, I rather enjoyed the movie. It's piqued my interest in the character and what he stands for and the visuals of the film itself were just impressive. One of the better super hero movies that I've seen.

This is p big news, I think. Avengers (colon) Earth's Mightiest Heroes is now available on the Netflixes. I'm excited if only because Disney XD kept moving the show around, messing up my trying to DVR the damn thing.

Damn, I need to get Netflix.

It's still no JLU, but Avengers is pretty cool. If for no other reason, it makes me feel smugly superior to be able to recall that much Marvel lore.

Well the guy that said Waller looked like a "normal person" is stretching the definition of "normal" a little bit. Normal looking people do not strongly resemble a sumo wrestler.

They ARE rebooting, starting from the beginning. Perhaps they are just showing us what Waller looked like before she discovered vienetta, or little Debbie, or something.

They say that the reboot is so they can tell stories they could not tell before. What story could they not tell before? I think they mean they want the opportunity to tell the same old stories over again. Lazy bastards.

It doesn't seem to exactly be a reboot from the beginning. I bought the first Swamp Thing and Animal Man issues and both have their histories more or less intact. Swamp Thing is back to being Alec Holland, but he remembers having been Swamp Thing, which is a seriously weird way to go.

Also, I hate the art on the new Swamp Thing. There's a guest appearance by Superman with the most ridiculously huge jowls. I have no idea what they were trying to do there. I remember my first exposure to Swamp Thing with the TPB of Alan Moore's first story arc. There's a Justice League crossover in that and the brief glimpse of Wonder Woman is the most beautiful I have ever seen her look. I can't help comparing the two cameos and shaking my head at the new one. Also our one glimpse of Swamp Thing is back to the smoother, less detailed version from the earlier comics and just looks lazy to me.

I've never liked Waller, just for the "end justifies..." government angle. There's way too much of that in the real world. However, I did like it when she squished Spy Smasher. This current thing is pretty lame though.

I just hope they go ahead and release the remainder of Secret Six as a trade and not cancel that like some other collections have been.
