Quite.
Sarah Palin Really Appreciates Canadian Health Care | Indecision Forever | Comedy Central
Quote:
"My first five years of life we spent in Skagway, Alaska, right there by Whitehorse: Believe it or not, this was in the '60s, we used to hustle over the border for health care that we would receive in Whitehorse," Palin told the crowd.
"I remember my brother, he burned his ankle in some little kid accident thing and my parents had to put him on a train and rush him over to Whitehorse and I think, isn't that kind of ironic now," Palin added.
"Zooming over the border, getting health care from Canada."

Who was she even speaking to? What was she even arguing for/against? Does she know?

One could almost say "Where are those single payer socialist death panels when you need them?"

Re: Caribou Barbie is at it again
Say what you will about Sarah Palin, but there's no denying her dedication to the fundamental truth that all the best ideas come from drunken, angry wingnuts.
On March 25, 2010:
Quote:
After picking up his 10-year old daughter from school yesterday afternoon, Nashville resident Mark Duren was driving home when he was suddenly and intentionally rammed from behind by Harry Weisiger. Enraged at the sight of Duren’s Obama bumper sticker, Weisiger gave Duren “the bird” and then hit him from behind, leading to a violent series of events.
|
On March 27, 2010:
Quote:
Appearing in Searchlight, Nevada (pop: 576), last Saturday, Palin said, "That bumper sticker that maybe you'll see on the next Subaru driving by--an Obama bumper sticker--you should stop the driver and say, 'So how is that hopey, changey thing working out for ya?'"

Re: Caribou Barbie is at it again
Hmm. The perp was 73 years old and drunk. The reforms have no provision for The Drunk but shouldn't the death panels have taken care of The Old by now?

My response to this has always been, "One hell of a lot better than 'compassionate conservatism' worked for me over the last eight years, that's for DAMN sure."

You liberals are always making everything she says seem like a bad thing. What she obviously meant to say was: "That bumper sticker that maybe you'll see on the next Subaru driving by--an Obama bumper sticker--you should shoot out his tires, drag the driver out, spit in his face and say, 'So how is that hopey, changey thing working out for ya?' before you shoot him in the kneecaps." Perfectly innocent thing to say in context.

Re: Caribou Barbie is at it again
Yeah, it's a really stupid question, and it's pretty obvious that a lot of the crazies are really out of touch.
But the thing is that Sarah Palin saw an article about a angry, violent, drunken wingnut running a car off the road, and decided to recommend the approach to other angry, violent wingnuts. I don't believe it was a coincidence at all. (The first reports I saw even said that the car the family was in was a Subaru, but it looks like now they're saying it was a Toyota.)
If some wingnut were to 'stop' me while I was driving, I wouldn't argue with them any more than I'd argue with an agitated raccoon.

I have a feeling you'd have better success with the raccoon anyway.

It almost makes me want to put an Obama bumper sticker on my Subaru.
Because I would also name Sarah Palin in my lawsuit if some wingnut hit me.

I'm just going to wait for one of those wing-nuts to try that with one of the very angry young black men I see with Obama stickers on their cars here, although they tend to be something other than Subarus.

I don't think those black guys have much to worry about. Most of those types are deathly afraid of black people anyway.

I don't think they would be worried, more excited to have a reason to beat the crap out of someone.
I've certainly had days like that.

Re: Caribou Barbie is at it again
Palin's teaching her children the most important lesson of all: always -- ALWAYS -- be on the right side of the grift.

Re: Caribou Barbie is at it again
Aww children, they are always one upping their parents. Why back in the day you had to be a figurehead governor who quits half way through her job for 'freedom and the american people.' Now these kids are just being handed these speeches. Bristol needs to understand that this is serious business. She doesn't have the same non-elitist credentials as her mother. Although I do understand the reason she's doing it. Once socialized medicine is destroyed it's going to cost a lot of money to keep Sarah in a posh mental institution.
I know it's not going to happen but it would be awesome if Bristol got up there and told the truth about how much bullshit the Abstinence only education plan is.

Browsing for e-books, I came across this one: Sarah Palin: Vampire Hunter. A literary mash-up of politics and tween vampire romance?

Arts, Briefly - Publisher Plans a Palin Biography For Children - NYTimes.com
Quote:
The Christian book publisher Zondervan wants to bring Sarah Palin’s story to a possibly undiscovered audience: 9-to-12-year-olds. In September Zondervan will publish “Speaking Up,” an admiring biography of Ms. Palin aimed at young readers, The Associated Press reported.

I guess someone needs to teach kids the Value of Quitting.

If in November 2008 you had told me that the name "Levi Johnston" would still appear in news stories in July 2010, I would have told you to gtfo.
