I did the dyeing in both cases. But ES folded and tied hers. I think I could have picked different colors, but I think both turned out great for our second outing.

We have been busy tie-dying.

I have done a bunch of geode, ice muck dyes.

I have really enjoyed the results.

After the success of the first two geode t-shirts, I was ready to make ES’s mom a shirt and ES asked for the striped one. I decided to try a dress shirt which zi wore to the informal wedding party for my cousin.

We have some more in the muck right now, hopefully with a southwest palette.

Es did some folds, and we are doing onesies

Our most recent batch is rinsed out and drying.

ES tied mandalas in her shirt, the bandana, and one of the onesies. I tied a multi geode for a family member who expressed that they wanted one and a single large geode shirt for myself.

I was thinking kind of southwest or high desert sunset as the cousin lives in Utah.

Since I do muck ice dyes, everything in a batch is the same palette.

This is our cousins shirt. It turned out great.

This is mine, I was surprised by how much white I still like the front, but I do like the back more.

ES’s mandalas came out pretty great

It's actually my pseudo-sister who is having the babby, and I kind of wonder if her kids will be almost eligible for the guiness record for age difference between same-mother siblings. Her daughter is 29, and she's pregnant with her second.

ES designed these and folded the mandalas.

I ice dyed them, they came out incredibly cool and make me want to incline ice dye all the things.

Her dress.

This is a sleeveless shirt for me.

Sleeved shirt for me.

ES’s shirt inclined ice dye, love the flow of it.

We have done a couple of dyes since my last post.

ES folded two mandala shirts for me. I didn’t vary the designs enough between the shirts, I should have tried different colors, but I love how they came out.

These mandalas were ice dyed on an incline so the dye might run down the mandala. I like how the dye flowed, but it was muddier than I intended and not as much blue.

These were died inclined so the dye flowed down the garment.

They both look cool.

I made a tshirt for my friend Dave’s bday. I find it hard to not use way too much powder when I dye. I think I used more appropriate amounts in this one. I did stop batching a bit early as I made it in a single day.

This is the back.

And another onesie, this one with horizontal strips by ES’s request.

I know that I often sound really critical of my dyes, but that’s because I’m always thinking about how I can improve and comparing intentions to results helps me improve my process.

Tie dye is like painting with Bob Ross, happy accidents abound, so I really like the stuff that we are making.

Something is definitely odd. We have not hit any storage limits, and when I look at "Attachments" in the control panel it shows the latest attachment to have been uploaded two days ago, by me. There are no attachments awaiting moderation either, so they appear to have been disappeared.

@bey: What is the size and filetype of attachments you uploaded?

Hey, vets, remember in Basic when you had to pick at your T-shirt folds with tweezers until they looked like a pack of American cheese slices? Who ever thought that could possibly come in handy?

Chair Force Basic: The Pay Attention To The Details or Everyone Will Die task couldn't be centered around the care and use of weapons, thus they transferred the focus to the care and storage of uniform items, including t-shirts, socks and underoos. T-Shirts had to be folded into square shapes with no wrinkles evident even inside the folds.

They would talk some shit like your t-shirt is your parachute, so you better take care when you fold that shit. Also your flashlight is your weapon, cuz you don't get a real one.

The folds in the pic above absolutely would not have passed muster. Thanks for not calling me out on that, Bort.

Interesting! In the Army we had to "ranger roll" (I had to just google that) all our t-shirts, socks, and underwear.
