I love checking out listing pictures, especially of historical properties or unique and brilliant builds. I've posted a couple of them before, but now that we have a jewelry porn thread, I figure it's time the real estate got a porn thread of its own.
Today's fapspiration is this Art Deco gem in Templeogue, south Dublin. Not only does it have an awesome crenelated parapet that manages to be both badass and not at all faux-castle kitchy, but it has marble mosaic floors, original hardwood window casings and doors in awesome Art Deco geometric style, and a personal favorite of mine: curved walls. It needs some updates, some decorator love, but that only adds to its appeal for me.
The best part, though, is that this lovely suburban villa was used as a frikkin NAZI SAFE HOUSE during World War II. It belonged to a man whose father was German, and SS officer Hermann Görtz stayed there after parachuting into Ireland in 1940 to enlist the aid of IRA collaborators in the planned invasion of Britain.
Asking price is €1.25million, or approximate $1.76 million.
If you want 'not at all faux-castle kitschy' this is the bad boy you want to strap on....
Step out and get yourself a 'Château Fort'. Six towers and a keep, originally built by a Cardinal nephew of an Avignon pope with the permission of an English king. It was gifted to his nephews. It was 'renovated' in the 1830s by Viollet-le-Duc and his assistant and appointed with the finest of France. Original family owners since 1306. The downside is its considered a bit of a white elephant ever since in inheritance along the way, it was separated from the surrounding vineyards. Still, I don't think they're selling.
Although they advertise a 'monument historique privé', I didn't have to use it, so I didn't see how big it was, nor how historic. I'm betting users had to flush twice....'do-overs', y'know.
Of course, every time they mentioned the 'nephews' I would snort and mutter, 'Yeah....riiiiight'.
My wife grew up close to that house - she said she walked past it every day. Templeogue / Rathfarnham is the more fancy area of Dublin. I bet that place used to be valued at twice that amount and is still dropping.
And now because any real estate porn thrad would be a joke without one, here is a Frank Lloyd Wright house. It's not just any old one, though. It's Coonley House, built in Riverside, IL, (just outside of Chicago) in 1912, which Wright himself deemed his best house. It's on a beautiful property with a pond and an acre of land, and the house has been renovated superbly. All the systems have been updated, the bathrooms and kitchen redone with so they're gorgeous and sleek but still in keeping with the period and style of the home. Even the landscaping was restored according to the original plans.
I've surfed a lot of FLW pr0n. This is the best I've ever seen, by far. If I had $2,890,000 lying around, I'd show up with a titanium valise packed full of it and claim her as my own. Hell, I'd gladly pack an extra few hundred thous just so ensure the owners threw in the furniture too because I seriously would not change a single thing about this house.

That is definitely an interesting looking house. Do you have any pictures of its interior?

Under no circumstances should Quentin Tarantino be allowed to befoul Star Trek.
I loved that about Acapulco. The weather was all tropical, so nobody had carpet, they had stone tile floors, and nobody had AC, so we would open all the windows and turn on the ceiling fans and hang out in the "shade" of the indoors warm but not sweltering. So much more pleasant than frigid AC on your skin constantly, for a week anyway. One dude had a hammock in his living room, for christsake!
