Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
It was a lovely 64ºF here this morning, 20 degrees lower than yesterday morning. The high today looks to be only about 8 degrees cooler than yesterday, if you can call 90ºF cool.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
hottest day in recorded history for my city, 34°C (93) with a 43°C (109) humidex, and we just ended it with a nasty mother of a thunderstorm.
first time I've ever felt the need to head for the basement
I'll have to post pictures tomorrow but the 100+km/h winds and golf ball sized hail gave the sheet metal on my car a real nice ball peel hammered look. only one broken window on the house, I'm also curious what my roof looks like, I've already replaced it once this year.
however In the 2 hours since the storm its cooled down to a lovely 16°C (60)

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
Big thunderstorms happen weekly here, so I see dimpled cars all the time.
We've had a very cool summer so far as the jet stream keeps Canadian air coming down. It was in the mid 60s this morning and the highs are in the mid 80s range. Last year it was much hotter and dryer. This year it's rained every week. I finally decided to turn on the sprinkler system after taking a moisture depth sample (jamming a screwdriver into the ground). Of course it rained on me half way through setting it up.
It looks like I'll only have to water a little bit this year to keep the trees and schrubs happy. Either that or it will be 100F in September and October. I'm too lazy to stand around with a hose so I'll run the sprinkler system that came with the house really hard once every couple of weeks or less once a week if it's hotter.
Rain around the 4th of July keeps the fireworks from lighting stuff on fire.

Yay, they've downgraded us from 4-6 inches of rain today to only 2-4 with localized heavier areas.

21 children age 7-12 camping in a teepee at a local summer camp were banged up pretty bad in last nights storm. the wind toppled their teepee, and they had no shelter from the hail. the news report says most are doing ok, one is in critical condition, and two are in serious condition

Stupid loud thunderstorm is stupid.
No point in trying to sleep in today. The thunder is esp. loud and has this rolling quality to it that thunder rarely has here. Power's also gone out and come back like 11 times.

Things on this end go well. I'm still working and the roof doesn't leak. Daughter child is in her last year of high school, and is looking forward to going to college next fall. The last 17 years went by in the blink of an eye. Hope all is well with you and the family shady.

The years are certainly screaming by... can't believe I've been in the UK 9 years now.
Things here are very nice indeed, Sou's oldest is at Uni and the younger one is off to Uni in 3 weeks. So we're looking forward to some quieter times soon Where have you been hanging out recently? I don't really check an of the old forums any more.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
So glad to hear things are going well with you guys! Best wishes to Sou and the kiddos! I've been hanging out at the JREF, poking the moderators with a stick. Aside from that, working, being a dad, and taking care of business eat up my time. Life is good!

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
A Few Clouds and 95°F (35°C) with a Feels-Like Index of 95°F (35°C). The humidity is only 32%, pretty dry for here especially considering how green everything still is. The wind are blowing from the south at 13 mph with gusts to 20 mph, which is much better than last week when I mowed the grass when it was 95ºF and no wind, plus high humidity.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
We are now on our fourth day of raining, and our cell phones were blowing up with warnings last night, because a street by our house went out and three people died in flash floods.
We're fine, though. We're on a bit of a hill, so it takes more than that to flood us.
This is difficult on our lady dogs, though, because Zsa Zsa hates getting wet and is afraid of umbrellas. Flossy doesn't care about the rain (and is even having some therapeutic effect on ZZ, who briefly went out to play with her sister during a thunderstorm), but Flossy is also afraid of umbrellas, so I had to take her for a walk yesterday with no umbrella and I got totally wet. It's not like I have a raincoat or anything.
Oh, wow. I just said three people died last night, and then started complaining about walking dogs in the rain. I am a sociopath.

It's been both in the mid to high 80s and rainy and humid the past few days.
Looks like today it's finally cooling down. Still rainy though.

Well, my wet dogs smell really bad.
We're going to have to filter the Coloradians out of the platte river at the Platte West Water treatment plant, aren't we.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
It is still raining.
It's not like it's torrential rains or anything--just an unrelenting light to medium rainfall that's adding up to this sort of thing (this is about 2 miles from our house):
7NEWS - Swiftwater rescue after Dillon Road washed out between Lafayette and Broomfield - Local Story
And the dickwit property management company across the street didn't turn off the automatic sprinklers.

I'd blame the sprinklers and sympathetic magic for your current rain woes, then. Burn the property management company as witches!

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
Temperature dropped by about 20 degrees yesterday from 79 in the afternoon to 59 around when I left work. It did the reverse on Monday, going up from the sixties in the morning to the eighties at night. Tonight it's supposed to go down to 37 with a frost warning. But this is Michigan, we expect that kind of thing. I feel for my poor plants, though.
