Re: Maps are fun, so is food.
The town limits of Plains, Georgia are nearly perfectly circular except for the part that annexes the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site. GOOGLE MAP It's the only town I've seen like that. I wonder why that is.
Also, the town was originally named Plains of Dura, from the biblical Book of Daniel.

Damn. Both the county I just moved from and the one I'm moving into are on the list. I had a feeling there were too many damned people around me.

I work in one right now, but live in one that is not one of the highlighted counties. In Utah, I was in the fat middle of a high density population county. But, in Colorado and Wyoming, I lived and worked in places where there were more coyotes than people.

Re: Maps are fun, so is food.
Found a map of the Netherlands at the time of the war of independence against Spain. The armistice line in Zeeland and Brabant is still pretty much the southern border with Belgium. The eastern border is about the same as well except the southern part of it. There is more Zeeland and North and South Holland and an extra province where the Zuiderzee was.
The University of Texas in Austin where I found this has a huge online collection of maps, called the Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection.

Yeah, the French gobbled up some parts too, Dunkirk is still Flemish on this map for instance.

I thought Cabela's was from Michigan. There's a big deal about the one in Dundee being a tourist attraction and I always assumed it was the only one.

The original Cabela's still stands out on the Nebraska prairie.

Hershey has been talking about closing the original plant and moving all production to Mexico. A lot of people don't like the idea.
Did you know that Reese's peanut butter cups are not sold fresh, they are stored in a warehouse for a time, where a reaction happens between the chocolate and the peanut butter making the distinctive flavor.

Nope: A Tennessee judge restored baby boy Messiah's given name, ruling the lower court's decision was unconstitutional because the previous judge's ruling was based on her Christian beliefs not the law.

I don't think that map is right, Watser. That pastry bit doesn't look like Austria to me. Although, as an American my geography skills are rudimentary at best, or so the rest of the world tells me.
