Re: Star Trek is awesome
Through the magic of youtube con videos I've learned that not only is De Lancie (Q)'s favorite episode of TNG he was in was All good Things and that the scene with a little puddle of goo was the last shot for the entire series but because they had to be high up for the low angle shots there was a man below them catching the goo in a bucket as De Lancie played with it. The little smirk Q gives is because he can hear the goo hitting the guy in the face instead of the bucket.

Re: Star Trek is awesome
I don't know if anyone has commented on this before, but in TOS, the rank markings on the sleeves are all wrong. Has anyone else been bothered by this?
ETA: Maybe I should have put this in "Trivial Things That Annoy You"!

What we left behind: DS9 Documentary to be released this year
I'm a bad trekkie and didn't even realize Ira Steven Behr, a writer on DS9, was working on a documentary but that does mean I have to wait less time for it. This is going to be a solid, in depth, full cast and crew type thing.

That question perhaps has a different answer if it's Commander Riker asking vs. Jonathan Frakes asking.

Re: Star Trek is awesome
I am super excited for this, mostly because I've been playing Star Trek Timelines on my phone (which led to me re-watching DS9).
I'm really curious where they are going to take this storyline.

Re: Star Trek is awesome
I hope it's the story of his life after he retired to the family vineyard in France.
Maybe he could have a wacky housemate, Odd Couple style.

Re: Star Trek is awesome
The pitch: Q wants to try out the whole 'aging' thing, and who better to pal around with during the experience than his old buddy Picard!
I'd watch the hell out of that show.

Re: Star Trek is awesome
I kinda agree with this article
I do want to see a different Picard, one that has grown and changed in the last 20 years. He doesn't have to be bitter and disillusioned, but I'd like him to have evolved as a character.
I'd be fine with him as a Grand Statesman for the Federation.

Re: Star Trek is awesome
It's only tangentially related to Star Trek, but I found this interview with Leonard Nimoy really interesting. They speak a lot of Yiddish. I love it because I understand most of it without the subtitles.

Re: Star Trek is awesome
I finally managed a way to watch the first two episodes of Star Trek: Discovery legally without paying for CBS All Access. It was not bad. Honestly, I think the pilot was done very well. And with that I will go to bed.
Also, personally, while it is annoying that the design of both the Klingons and Starfleet ships look nothing like what they should according to Prime canon, their designs are very nicely done. Seriously, I think the show looks beautiful and the visual effects are excellently done.
