But this has nothing to do with being female! What it does have to do with is being a particular kind of modern conservative, who has chosen to value commitment to any belief whatsoever, even if it's obviously wrong, more highly than accuracy. And to defend that belief by adding any and all other beliefs that are necessary to make that belief seem good.

Basically, start with the belief that there's half a package of cheese left in the refrigerator, then look and find that there isn't. Your response: Declare that there is definitely cheese, perhaps some of these other things are cheese, or maybe gays stole the cheese. A rational person's response: Conclude that actually there wasn't cheese there after all, maybe somebody ate it or something.

But this isn't male/female. This is liberal/conservative -- not in the left/right sense, but in the "open to correction" vs. "dogmatically committed" sense.

Being proud of your willful errors is not making you a stronger or more committed person, it's making you a selfish boor. And it's not because you're a woman; it's because you'd rather destroy the things in your life than risk admitting you were wrong about them.

These are the two main points I made that you two find hysterical. Well davidm does anyways.

1. Public school teachers are mainly stupid. (not all, mind you just some)

2. A woman should not be President.

Now I know how my little daughter felt when she was the only one who gave thumbs down to the woman/oval office thing. Everyone laughed at her. They said 'shelby come on your're not serioius' she just laughed and laughed too, and said 'the fuck I'm not!'--- She likes to clown around. I think she has put it together that when your opinions are unpopular and it makes people laugh that it's a good thing. She gets it from this monk who teaches Sunday School at our Church.
