Its -36C at the moment by my thermometer. my truck wont start because the battery froze and burst, the neighbors pipes burst, and my dad was complaining that his trucks windshield spontaneously shattered when he turned on the heater this morning.
the plastic insulation on my jumper cable got so hard that it cracked, broke apart and fell off when I tried to uncoil it. The outer shell of my cheap winter jacket apparently gets brittle when its this cold, because it broke in a few places too.

It snowed again last night, and is supposed to continue through today and Monday. Thanks to the cloud cover it is a relatively balmy 30  . I took some garbage out last night and was surprised by how warm it felt compared to the 10 and lower we've been getting.

It looks like Sleepy Hollow out this morning. It's all foggy and the trees are bare and it's super creepy. I was driving east shortly after sunrise and the sun looked just like the moon, it was so dim!

It's like 41F now, supposed to have highs in the 40s all week, pretty much.
This low for this day last year was -18F.
Assuming it gets up to 45 today, and global warming keeps up at this rate, this day next year, it's going to be 126F.

My car claimed 68 F when I went out for lunch. I believe it.
And it's nice and all, but ... why did it decide to be beautiful and sunny on fucking Monday?! I had guests this weekend and we all had to contend with chilly, sunless days while I showed them around.

It was around 40F and cloudy today. But for mid-December, I'll take that anytime over sunny and say, 20F or lower.
