What do they call it when someone starts with one set of claims...

Oh yeah!

The Jerome Wriggle famous all over a tiny fraction of the internet.
When caught out spouting bullcrap, simply pretend we are suddenly not asking "does a degree in astrophysics make you likely to be more competent in aspects of climate science than a layperson", no we are asking if it makes them an expert in the field of climatology and an authority in the field! And look: non-climatologists are often pointed out not to be climatologists when they make claims about climate change, so double standard and it is unfair to point out Jerome was full of it somehow.
As is typical with the true believers, they are confused in that they think claims are facts.

Oh Jerome, you might just have a point if the tweeter said "You should actually learn some climate change science then." But of course he didn't, his assumption she knew no science is what makes it funny.
And yes, given I recently had a short conversation with a denier that had them claiming water vapor contains CO2 thus burning fossil fuel was ok, I do think a basic background in physics puts here above the average person.

I don't need to add much to this, if anything.
Just fun how Jerome didn't seem to fear me, but feared Dragar and Vivisectus. (I'd be scared of Vivisectus too! )

It only works if you give the books a thorough soaking before putting them under your pillow and pouring a bucket of water over your head. That technique got me through High School. Actually reading the books is for losers.

That probably worked for you because you are such a mush-head you didn't need to add water.

Despite the fact that my mother told me I must have absorbed everything by osmosis because I damned sure didn't study, but mush-head? I don't think so.

Charming. He has been suspended from Twitter over this, and I can’t say that looks like the wrong decision.

Anybody who disrespects this country and the flag, if they don't like the country they don't like our flag, get the hell out.
Mike Ditka hates freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution, therefor he hates America. He should get the hell out. I understand North Korea makes people stand and salute for their national anthem, maybe he should move there.

The Daily Caller has no more journalistic integrity than the National Enquirer. Probably substantially less, actually.
After Hillary Clinton brought up Alicia Machado in Monday's debate, Tucker Carlson's pathetic outfit published a story claiming she was a "porn star" apparently based on - and I swear I am not making this up - a clip someone posted on Pornhub. The problem is that the clip does not actually feature Machado; it features the porn star Angel Dark, who looks similar to Machado but is not the same person. The Pornhub clip claimed it was Machado because someone wanted clicks; this is a common practice on sites that allow people to post clips without oversight. When the brain trust at the Caller finally realised this, they published the following completely pathetic correction:
Quote:
Correction: The star of Apprentass 4 was Angel Dark, not Alicia Machado
They did not even change the fucking headline.
I think Machado has a pretty good case for actual malice here, and I hope she sues the shit out of them.
(Note that Machado has posed topless for Playboy and was featured in a steamy but not at all explicit and probably staged “reality” show clip. She has not, however, ever done a hardcore sex scene, as the Caller claimed she had. More via Snopes.)

Cool; the tiny-fingered, Cheeto-faced, ferret-wearing shitgibbon has apparently now gotten in on the potentially libellous claims about Machado doing porn. (So has the Stupidest Man on the Internet, to whom I’m not going to link.) I hope the toupeéd fucktrumpet gets taken for a shitload of money over this too.
Given that his wife apparently actually has done porn (not to mention once worked as a sex worker, allegedly), I’m not entirely sure the short-fingered vulgarian is in any position to be throwing stones. I don't personally have any issues with Melania's past occupations, whatever they may have been, but the weapons-grade plum perhaps is a fucking idiot to slut-shame other women given these particular facts.

Matt Drudge thinks Hurricane Matthew is a left wing conspiracy.
I swear years from now we're going to find out a commonly used chemical in the air or food causes paranoia, as it seems some view virtually everything as a conspiracy.

Obviously I don't need to point out that Trump has been accused, and there is a witness to one of the accusations who backs up all the accuser's testimony under oath. The real highlighted part should've been #8, though; I'm not really sure what Yglesias was thinking there.
I guess we're the real rape apologists though because we oppose Trump's candidacy.
e: I didn't mean to put this post in this thread, but as it turns out it still pretty much fits. I feel like this is somehow indicative of something.
