31 is the cutoff for going to definite night, so I'm pretty close to that.

One thing that skewed my answers relating to how I function just after awakening is that I have terrible sinus/allergy problems during that time. Even so, I've semi-jokingly told contractors not to ask me any questions before 10 AM.
Why am I not at all surprised that Ymir and I got exactly the same score? :five:
I also answered the poll before I took the test, so I'm a liar! I think the reason I got moderate is that I have been adjusting my schedule for work for so long that I'm not even sure how late I would stay up if left to my own devices. In my first semester of college when I had no classes before noon I went to bed about 4:00am every day. Because of the time change, I used to give Mick his wake-up call in Detroit at 7:00 because he had a day job. I have no idea if I would go back to that if left to my own devices, but it's entirely possible.

I think they have placed too much emphasis on distress and perceptions of incapacity/inefficiency when waking or being woken early. I have no problem getting up at any time (I'm tempted to say that I've never had that problem, but actually I am not sure I didn't use to and have just forgotten). I can even manage without an alarm clock.

That doesn't make me in any less a denizen of darkness.

I scored 59. I am also someone who gets up at 5:25 so that I have an hour to an hour-and-a-half in which to eat breakfast, have my coffee, and fart around on the Internet before getting ready for work.

Today, for absolutely no reason at all, I woke up at 4 a.m., and have been able to get in an EXTRA HOUR of general farting around.

When I started my all-to-short early retirement, my wife told me that I would find a routine. She was right, about three or four months into it, I found myself rising at 06:30 in the morning without using an alarm clock, then going to bed tired at 10:30 PM. inland wave found herself on a 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM routine, which had more to do with her college paper deadline being midnight Arizona time. She's still on that, somewhat, but often falls asleep watching tv just like her dad. Unmolested, she will often sleep until noon. But, during that brief retirement, I really enjoyed those first four hours of my day, when I was up and puttering around, doing yard work, watering flowers, whatever, before she got up insisting that we go out to lunch. For me, to be up and alert in the mornings seemed very strange. I always figured myself to be a night owl, but I guess I am actually not.
