We already have threads dedicated to fapping over real estate and jewelry, so it's high time we had one for the visual arts.
I'll kick things off with my favorite Lichtenstein of all time which is going on the block next week for the first time since 1988. I appear to have misplaced the $40 million I was going to use to buy it, but I haven't checked under the couch cushions yet so keep your fingers crossed.
"I Can See the Whole Room!...and There's Nobody in it!", Roy Lichtenstein, 1961:
How brilliant is that? Out of all of Roy's comic-inspired pieces, this one to me is hands down the perfect one to have on a wall. It's also very early and thus has unpolished elements that I adore, like visible pencil lines under the print. You can see them if you zoom in on the Christie's image.
