I never don't touch my eyeballs at some point after I chop up peppers. It's actually the milder ones that are the bigger problem for me because they don't raise alarms until I get them in my eyes.
When I'm doing a big batch, like when I get a bushel of chilis, I'll wear gloves, but I never bother when it's just a pepper or two, and I always end up paying for it.
PS: Never stupid mind about the stupid audio question. Turns out it's YET ANOTHER INPUT, and now I have to do a totally different thing that is an even bigger pain in the butt. Poor me.

Re: Miscellany
I recently bought a Nexus 6P phone and switched to Google Fi for my wireless service (because it's half the cost of AT&T and I didn't think it was easy enough for Google to stalk me through all their other services I use). Anyway they sent me a little "Happy Holidays" (because they hate Christians) gift today consisting of a set of legos, instructions for building a phone stand, and an extra charging cable. Nice little surprise.

I was just looking at the Nexus 6P, what do you think about it? How does it compare to your last couple of phones (and what were they?).
I was just saying to Sou that it's getting harder and harder to buy shit these days, you have to do so much research it seems. Like if you're buying a TV, laptop or phone (all of which I have been looking at recently) there is so many options now, it's hard to sift through all the info. You can't even say things like 'well Samsung always has a top quality screen' because some of the models don't. And it's not like there is 3 or 4 major brands to look at, there are loads! Some of which use the same parts/manufacturing as the big names and some which certainly don't. Some models from the big names use highly inferior parts/builds to nearly identically named models in their line... it's brutal.
Maybe this should be in the first world problems thread.
Anyway, I want a website where I can just go enter the specs I want, in the order of importance to me, with a price range and have then give me a list of closest matching products with explanations on why/where they differ and which one is best.
So, like, get on that
Please?

I'm a sucker for gadgets so take with a grain of salt, but my last three phones were the Galaxy Note 4, the iPhone 6+, and the Galaxy Note 3. Yes, as you suspect there are very few differences between any of those and the one I have now, except that the one I have now was more shiny (and one of only 2 phones, both Nexus, that work on Google Fi.)
Oh! And my favorite feature of the iPhone was the fingerprint reader; the Note also reads prints but you have to swipe instead of press and it's a pain in the ass. The Nexus combines the ease of pressing with a better location: the upper center of the back of the phone, so you can unlock with your index finger while holding the phone naturally.

I'm not too sad about it. It'd just be another goo-gaw crowding my desk anyway. I'm still quite proud of my crafty repurposing of a business card holder for a phone stand. The 5x itself is much larger than the Incredible there, so if I plop the 5x on there, I have to make sure it's set back if it's portrait sided, landscape I can be a little more lax with the placement.

The 5x is plenty big for my tastes, I can't imagine having gotten the 6p. I can only just operate the 5x with one hand. If it's bigness you want the 6p should have that in spades. Though everyone is going on and on about the fingerprint scanner - deservedly, that feature is very well implemented - you don't have to use it. You can use no security or all the security. That tidbit of information isn't out there. Bonusedly: You can use multiple fingers so that any of them can unlock the phone.
Currently, my favorite aspect of the OS environment is how stripped down it is for this version. I never liked any of the bloatware that came with any other phone I've had or used. There isn't a lot of "bloat" that comes with the 5x or 6p, and some of it that is there can be uninstalled.

Re: Miscellany
Tumblr of all the signs off the Sixties Batman series. When I started looking at it I thought it was stupid or insane. By the time I got about two thirds of the way through I wanted to go home and label everything in my house in the most obvious way.

To remind them of who saved their bacon back during the BIG ONE? or maybe so your jealous friends won't haul them before HUAC? (comic is from '52)

Re: Miscellany
EDIT because I forgot about this pic.
Somehow I knew you guys would be driving a Lincoln.
MATLOK.jpg
Now important stuff that deals with one of the biggest considerations of the year:
I need a calendar. I used this one -> Hyperbole and a Half 2015 Wall Calendar: Allie Brosh: 9781419714108: Amazon.com: Books this year and enjoyed it. I COULD get her 2016 one but I want something different.
Main uses for a wall calendar - Feeling like it's christmas once a month as I remember to change the page. Enjoying the artwork.
I use the calendar app on my phone (which syncs to my desktop) like a normal human so I'm in it for the funneh (or beautiful or horrifying or whatever...)
Dear FF, what should I get?
