Re: Miscellany
Why is it beheading when other be- started words seem to be intensifying and when someone is beheaded, they are getting the opposite of more heads?
If I could have waited another hour (or two), I would have posted this at , but I would have forgotten by then. Wouldn't want that.

Wait, wait. What? Beheading DOESN'T mean getting more heads? It's not like bedazzling?
Well, shit.

Re: Miscellany
Behanding is the punishment for thievery in some barbaric countries that are on the moral level of spear-shaking Pygmies.
Also, beforeskinning is what Jews do to their male babies, in case you were wondering how this ties into Jews.

Re: Miscellany
Bereft and related forms (e.g. Bereavement) also speak of loss.

Beekeeping does not involve the loss of keeping.

For some reason, behooving involves neither the increase nor diminishment of hooves.

Apparently the etymologies are related, however.

Re: Miscellany
All of this because I read how some baggage handler was beheaded at Reagan a few years ago while trying to get the conveyor belt thingy lined up at the plane. And the article wasn't even about that.
Still not sure how she got beheaded, but I'm pretty sure it's connected with the fact that women shouldn't be driving. Her stress levels were probably at 240%!

That part is wrong, it is the other way around: beroven is modern Dutch.
