Starting a political blog

I sort of feel like the regular contributors to our politics forum have too much knowledge to keep to our small little corner of the internet that no one links to. I know the internet is flooded with politics blogs already, but I think a blog started by Freethought Forum members could be truly important (and even make a real difference) because a lot of people here have real expertise.

I've blogged about political matters before (on LiveJournal, but still), but I always had difficulty finding something to say on a daily basis, and in general I would just get demotivated when depressing events would occur. A group blog manages to avoid this problem to a certain extent - when one contributor loses interest and/or ability to contribute, it's not that big a deal because there are other writers to keep content coming. There certainly has been no shortage of people with insightful things to say on nearly every meaningful political development of the six-plus years I've been a member of this forum.

Due to various matters I don't really feel like getting into right now I find myself with an abundance of free time and think it's time to give blogging a second chance, but I don't want to go it alone. If I were going to start a blog, could I count on people here to contribute? People like Matlock, pea, chunks, Chuck Fuckstein, Watser?, and really, nearly every regular or semi-regular contributor to this forum (sorry, AML, I don't want you to write for me), I'm looking at you. Preferably, I'd want people who would be willing to moderate comments (if we allowed them) as well. I've lost my taste for moderation recently, and because I'm clinically depressed and prone to being argumentative (not that I show it much here, because there are people here who are much better at arguing than I am) I'm probably not a good choice for a moderator in the first place. I do have web space to host a blog and can open a forum for it as well if need be.

If there's enough interest in this I'll start PMing people with access info etc.

I would definitely read, and I could probably moderate comments. I've never moderated anything before, but really, how hard could it be?

I have narrowed my focus on Palestine/Israel lately as opposed to the entire Middle East and all that. But I'd be willing to share some thoughts/opinions/background facts on the ME in general and Palestine in particular.
